Manufactured by one of the top brands currently active in the drone market JJRC H31 is the perfect beginner drone.
JJRC H31 is a medium size quadcopter (11.42 x 11.42 x 3.54 inches), made of ABS plastic, a lightweight and durable type of material. The drone is available in two colors: green or white. It stands out from most drones due to its waterproof design, meaning its circuit board is water resistant and it has water drain holes. According to manufacturer, H31 can be submersed up to 50m underwater.
H31 is surprisingly very easy to fly. In fact, it is one of the best drones for beginners. Very stable, responsive, and easy to maneuver, this quadcopter is the ideal aircraft for anyone who is new to RC flying. It has different speed levels, the fastest has a very high yaw rate.
Besides the waterproof feature, this affordable quadcopter also comes with Headless Mode (very useful for beginners) and One Key Return (return to home point without hassle). On top of this, it also performs 360º aerial stunts, LED lights for night flights and it also comes with the option to add a camera (2MP or 0.3MP or 0.3MP WiFi) to photograph and record video.
As expected from a JJRC product, H31 provides above average specifications. Powered by a 3.7V 400mAh Lipo battery, it has a maximum flight time of 8 to 10 minutes and takes about 1 hour to complete a full charge. When it comes to control range, it has a detailed distance of 80 meters.
Take it to the pool or the lake, land, and take off on water. Take photos and record video of your favorite moments.
Design & Material
F51C is made of ABS plastic, ensuring it resists most common crashes and hits. It is available in two different colors: black and orange. It has a waterproof design that allows it to fly during rainy days, land on water and also take off from water. It’s a small quadcopter with the dimensions of 6.54 x 6.54 x 2.24 inches.
F51C has a slightly bigger learning curve than JJRC H31. However, it still is a nice fit for beginners as the 6-axis Gyro gives it a decent hover and stable flight. It has different speed levels, allowing the pilot to adapt the yaw rate according to his flying expertise.
GPToys F51C comes with a standard (non-detachable) VGA waterproof camera. Although low-resolution, the camera can take nice photos and record small clip videos. Thanks to the camera’s angle and its waterproof built, while on water it can record underwater video and take photos because the camera is fully submersed. Very fun to play with in a pool.
The quadcopter features a set of fun functions such as Headless Mode, One Key Return, 360º flip and of course LED lights. These are the most common features among drones within this price range.
GPtoys F51C meets the average specs of a quadcopter within its budget. The 3.7V 400mAh Li-Po battery powers up to 8 minutes of flight time. Maximum control range is around 50 to 80 meters.
A racing drone that combines speed and a waterproof design. Race your friends even when its raining and capture every moment with the built-in FPV camera.
Ideafly F90 Pro is one of the few racing drones with a waterproof design. Fly it in the rain and land and take off from shallow water (do not submerse the quadcopter in water though). F90 Pro makes use of different types of material, namely ABS plastic and 3K carbon fiber on its frame. It’s very lightweight and durable, will resist most hard crashes and hits thanks to the carbon fiber frame. Dimensions are: 5.12 x 5.12 x 2.36 inches. It weighs only 86g.
It’s a simple and yet efficient racer. It can reach high speeds thanks to the four high-performance 1104 8500KV high RPM brushless motors and 4-in-1 3A brushless ESC (Electronic Speed Controller). Its micro F3 flight controller allows for a very responsive command. Overall, it’s a great FPV racer for beginners and experts too.
The built-in FPV camera is a 600TVL CMOS, a common and reliable FPV camera for RC aircrafts. It transmits live video directly to a FPV monitor or goggles. Video transmission is done thanks to the 5.8G 40CH 25mW VTX and antenna.
A feature-rich quadcopter with a waterproof design for an amazing low price. One of the most interesting waterproof drones currently in the market.
When it comes to design, LiDiRC L15FW has a very standard look resembling the Syma X5SC. It is made of ABS plastic and therefore fairly durable. The manufacturer claims that the remarkable waterproof design allows the drone to be soaked in water for up to 5 hours. However, GearBest doesn’t recommend you do this, as it will reduce the drone’s life span.
A great fit for beginners, the 6-axis Gyro system provides the aircraft with a stable hovering and a decent maneuverability, it can perform very tight funnels. LiDiRC L15FW is somewhat of an acrobatic drone, however, beginners shouldn’t try these tricks right away.
The camera is very standard, it has 0.3 megapixels and takes photos and records video in 640 x 480P low-resolution. The camera is pointed directly forward for a great horizon view, thus ensuring pilot has a nice angle view, especially useful for FPV flying. The live video transmission is done via WiFi directly to the pilot’s smartphone. Depending on flight conditions and transmission quality there might be a slight delay on the FPV transmission.
As previously mentioned, LiDiRC L15FW comes with a wide set of fun and useful features, besides the waterproof design and FPV transmission, it also comes with Headless Mode, One Key Return, Automatic Landing, Altitude Hold and LED Night Light. An amazing set of features considering the very cheap price of this quadcopter.
Powered by a 3.7V 550mAh battery, the flight time of LiDiRC L15FW ranges between 7 to 8 minutes, which is on average with other same-price RC aircrafts. Although if you use a 3.7V 650mAh battery you can have a 10-minute flight time. The quadcopter’s max control range is an amazing 100 meters.
