The US ban prohibits Huawei company from using Google service on their newly released phones, which will cause a lot of inconvenience for users. However, smart users can always find another way to get it. In fact, there are several optional ways for users to install Google Play Store privately.

In my previous article, I have written a detailed guide about "How to install Google Play Store via Google Installer APK".

However, some users may fail to install the Google Installer, for example, you may get an error notification like "Install Core GMS packages" on your phone. If so, your phone may be locked internally at root level. So you should install the GMS Installer APK first and then install the Google Play Store.  

The GMS Installer refers to the Google Mobile Service Installer. It’s an APK for Android devices to enable Google service like Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Play Store and more.

How to install Google Play Store on Huawei Mate 30 phones or other Huawei and Honor phones via GMS Installer?

Note: Before you try the following steps, you’d better first try the first method I mentioned in my previous article about "How to install Google Play Store via Google Installer APK". If this method failed, you can try the following alternative method.

Step 1. Go to "Settings" on your Huawei Mate 30 phones or other Huawei phones.

Step 2. Find the "Security & privacy" on the settings list.

Step 3. Tap "More settings".

Step 4. Turn on "Download Apps from external sources" and click "OK" on the prompt notifications.

Step 5. Download the GMS Installer APK and install it on your phone.

Step 6. After successful installation, download and install the latest version of Google Play Store.

Step 7. Open the Google Play Store APP and login with your Google account to start using it.

That’s all the steps. If everything goes well, you can download the rest of Google Apps that you need from the Google Play Store.
