Xiaomi Yi is not just an IP camera for viewing from a local network, but also has a built-in Internet browsing function. However, no complicated manipulations with it and the router do not need to be done. For connection and initial setup you need to install one of the programs on your mobile phone (iOS or Android) - Mi Smart Home or Mi XiaoYi Smart Camera.
Before we add our camera here, go to the section "Profile" and register in the service Xiaomi - it will be needed to save the video and to view the picture online via the Internet.
Next, open the tab "Devices". Click on "+" in the upper right corner of the window and select "Yi Camera".
After that the program will ask us to make sure that the yellow LED on the camera lights up.
The next step is to identify the camera and connect it to the network.
If everything goes well, the program will return to the main window. If not, he will offer to generate a QR code to connect to the router. By the way, I've never had a chance to set up my camera automatically - only by scanning the code.
But before you do, you have to reset all the settings to zero with the "Reset" button.
Now the phone screen with this code should be brought to the camera before the voice signal in Chinese, the blue LED on the camera and the message on the screen of the program, which signals the successful connection.
Back to the home page and see our IP camera Xiaomi in the list.
The current picture from the camera is immediately displayed at the top of the screen. Clicking on it takes us to the camera control page. Here you can force the recording, activate the microphone/speaker, or take a picture. The time scale shows the periods in orange when recording was in progress. By the way, even in the absence of an SD-card the recording will be made in the cloud - for this purpose 4GB is available free of charge.
To set up the recording in detail, click on the "Menu" button in the upper row on the right side of the screen and enter "Settings".
● Motion recording in the frame
● Scheduled recording
● Switching off the lit LED for masking
● Setting a password to connect to the camera
In particular, by default, it is truncated with the ability to broadcast video via the RTSP protocol, which means that it can't be connected to either a video recorder or some other cloud service.
● Turn off the camera and remove the SD card from it.
● Download one of the firmwares with RTSP support - one (for cameras with revision lower than V2.1) or two (for revision V2.1)
● Format the SD card and unpack the Home file from the archive to the root of the flash drive
● Switch on the camera and reset the settings (with the Reset button)
● Turn off the camera, insert the flash drive and turn it back on.
● Wait till she's done and reconnect to WiFi.
After that the following RTSP streams will be available:
Basic: rtsp://IP CAMERY:554/ch0_0.h264
Reserve: rtsp://IP Cameras:554/ch0_1.h264
Audio: rtsp://IP Cameras:554/ch0_3.h264
