Have you ever wanted to copy an address sent to an email you read from your computer and paste it into your navigation application on your smartphone? In a normal situation, you would have to leave your computer, pick up your phone, go to your email application, copy the address and paste it into your browser application.
Fortunately, there are much more convenient alternatives to copy and paste text between your Android smartphone and your computer, we explain how to do it!
Alt-C is an application that runs in parallel on the smartphone and the computer. For Android, it can be downloaded from the Google Play Store. For your Mac or PC, the installation file is available from the Alt-C site for Windows or macOS. After downloading, simply install it normally, like any software, by running the.exe.dmg file.
After installing the application (Android) and the software (Windows and macOS), they must be opened on both platforms. First of all, on the smartphone side, the activation code must be retrieved, this unique code will allow Alt-C servers to combine the two terminals.
Then go to the computer to enter the smartphone information. Give it the name of your choice and then enter the 8-digit code given by the application.
Your terminals are well connected to each other.
You must then configure the keyboard shortcuts. This happens on your computer, go to the "Hotkeys" category to choose your shortcuts to copy or paste the text. The basic keys are CTRL + ALT + C to copy and ALT + V to paste.
To copy text from Windows to Android, simply do the same as for a classic text copy: highlight the text to be copied and make the keyboard shortcut configured in Alt-C. In our case, CTRL + ALT + C.
A small window should appear confirming that the text has been copied and sent to your device. So go to your smartphone. A notification will then appear to confirm that the text has been transferred. You can then paste the text where you want!
To copy text from your Android smartphone to your computer, simply copy like any other classic text on your phone and make the keyboard shortcut provided for in Alt-C text pasting, in our case: ALT + V.
You are ready to transfer your copied text between your smartphone and your computer.
To download Alt-C, you can install it for your smartphone from the Play Store - and soon on iOS - and from the Alt-C site for the Windows and macOS part.
