Sonoff POW R2 is the second revision of a device. This version has significant improvements. The POW R2, like the Sonoff Basic, turns electronic devices on and off remotely. In addition to this, it also monitors values in real time. The values recorded are Ampere, volts and Watt. The first generation POW only monitored the Watts and does not have an overload protection system, which is present in the second revision.

Step 1: Find the L,N and ground letters, these letters help us to connect to the electrical system of the device. The letter L stands for Phase, while N stands for Neutral, the symbol instead of grounding is explained by itself.

Step 2: Unscrew the screw in the front of light switch.

Step 3: Disassemble the product, and cut the plug so as to take the Phase and Neutral that feed it.

Step 4: If you cut the plug on the device you want to check, for example a lamp, you will have to find two different coloured cables. One cable will be for the Phase and one for the Neutral, there may be a third cable that is the grounding.

Step 5: Connecting the Neutral to the first connection from the left (Output L, in my case brown).

Step 6: To the exact opposite we will connect the neutral, in my case green/yellow.

Step 7: Once we have made these two connections, then we connect the Phase to the connection L Input, in this way the current will be fed into the device and will exit through the output phase.

Step 8: Once these operations have been completed, the Sonoff POW R2 is practically connected to the current and the device. 

Step 9: Check all the connections well made and there are no contacts between the various cables.

Step 10: Let's restore power to the electrical panel and make sure that there are no contacts of any kind and that the POW R2 is in a safe position, away from liquids or possible accidental falls.


Make sure turn off the power to the house from the electrical panel. This is really very important as there is a risk of taking a shock in the various stage of assembly.

How to pair Sonoff Pow R2 wit the iOS and Android phones?

Step 1: Download and install eWeLink APP

Search "eWeLink" in App Store for iOS version or Google play for Android version.

Step 2: Power on Sonoff Pow R2. Press and hold on the button for 7seconds until the green LED light blinks.

Step 3: Open eWeLink APP, and click "+" icon at the bottom of screen.

Step 4: Hold on the button on the Sonoff POW R2 for about 5 seconds until the LED flashes twice and then repeatedly.

Step 5: Make sure the mobile phone is connected to 2.4 GHz network and enter the password.

Step 6: The application is searching for our POW R2 and will have it connected to our home network.

Step 7: If everything went well, the POW R2 connects to our WI-FI network and will be seen by the application. We can give it a name to distinguish it from other devices.

Step 8: Then added and correctly configured the POW R2.

Step 9: Now to the list of our devices will be visible and controllable from the interface of the application.

In the POW R2 info we will have a better view of the recorded data and statistics of our consumption. We can then make further calculations or set operating times.
