Note: when your phone acts as a WiFi hotspot, it cannot connect to a WiFi network, meaning it must use cellular data.
Step 1. To set smartphone WiFi hotspot, start by opening your Android and enter "Settings".
Step 2. Find "Wireless & Networks" and select the "More" option.
Step 3. Under "Tethering & Portable Hotspot", select "Personal hotspot".
Step 4. Turn on the personal hotspot, you will see an icon on the navigation bar showing the hotspot is active.
Step 5. Set your SSID name, encryption type, and password. The encryption defaults to WPA2 PSK, while the password should contains a minimum of 8 characters.
Step 6. Tap "Save" to finish setting up the Android hotspot.
Step 1. Enter the "Settings" menu on your iPhone.
Step 2. Select "Personal Hotspot" option.
Step 3. Toggle the switch to activate "Personal Hotspot".
Step 4. Choose your connection mode "Turn on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth" or "USB only". If you want to share your internet with other devices via WiFi, choose the first option. On-screen explanations are shown.
Step 5. Set your phone hotspot password (at least 8 characters), the username is your iPhone name.
Step 6. Tap "Done" on the right top set up your iPhone hotspot.
Step 1. Tap "Settings" on the "Start" screen.
Step 2. Scroll the options to "internet sharing" and select it.
Step 3. Choose your preferred internet sharing method: WLAN or Bluetooth.
Step 4. Edit your "Broadcast name" and "Password" (minimum 8 characters).
Step 5. Confirm your settings.
Step 6. Open the "Sharing" feature to activate your Windows phone hotspot.
After setting up your Android/iPhone/Windows phone hotspot, it's easy to connect for sharing internet:
● Give the hotspot username and password to the person who needs to use the hotspot.
● Turn on your phone hotspot; our example shows an iPhone as the hotspot, with an Android phone connecting to it.
● Ask your friend to activate their phone's WiFi and search for your hotspot.
● Choose the corresponding username and input the password.
● Finally, tap "Connect" to finish.
Note: if your iPhone is a hotspot, you will receive a notification alert that your internet is being shared but you will be unable to view their device details. However, Android phones show this information, even allowing you to disconnect and black list them.
