Such errors can be due to many reasons, so that it is difficult for ordinary users to identify the specific source of the error. The problem could be with the laptop, the TV, or even the poor connection. Currently, connecting a laptop to a TV is usually through an HDMI cable, the cheapest to the lowest current TV models almost support this type of port. The following article will only list the causes and solutions for common errors when connecting a laptop to a TV using HDMI.
This may be because on the laptop you have not enabled the mode of projection of laptop screen on TV. How to do the following:
● For Windows 7/8/10 laptops:
Press the Windows and P buttons simultaneously - and select Duplicate .
● For laptops with Windows XP operating system:
Method 1: Choose Control Panel > Display > Display Properties > Settings > select the parameters as shown below and click OK .
Method 2: Press FN + F8 keys (depending on the laptop) to fix the error that the TV does not display images.
TV do not only have one but many different HDMI ports. Therefore, when you encounter this situation, check that you have selected the correct HDMI port that the TV connects to the laptop? How to do the following:
● Check the HDMI cable is input HDMI port, with what symbol.
● Press the INPUTS , SOURCE or the arrow icon button (depending on the TV), or you can select the Source button on the TV remote control as shown below.
Then select the corresponding HDMI port you used to connect. If on the TV you plug the HDMI cord into HDMI 1 / MHL port, then choose this port correctly.
When connecting the TV successfully with the laptop, the TV display is not standard image laptop is completely normal. And to fix the error of connecting the TV to the laptop with HDMI due to the wrong rate we just need to manipulate it on the television.
You need to press the button on the remote TV Size (if available) or go to Menu > Settings > Photos > image ratio of the TV and select 16: 9.
In case the TV does not have sound, it may be because you have not output the audio to HDMI cable, to do this, follow these steps on a laptop:
Step 1: Click on the speaker icon > select Sounds .
Step 2: When the Sounds interface appears > select Playback .
Step 3: Here, you will see where the current audio output is a laptop speaker (with a green check mark) > select the pronunciation icon as the TV to play the sound. Here, select Toshiba-TV > then select Set Default > click OK .
Note: In case you do not see the icon of the TV - click on the space -> select Show disable devices -> it will show the connected device.
If you've already chosen to output audio to HDMI but still don't have sound on your TV, check some of the following:
● Is the TV turned off (MUTE) or not?
● Is the TV / laptop volume (volume) turned on?
● Does the clip / music sound?
If you've used all of the above and still have a problem connecting your laptop to a TV like this, the reason is largely because your HDMI cable is poor quality or has been used for a long time. To fix the problem, simply replace the HDMI cable and then try to reconnect.
