For its price, the device is incredibly competitive compared to its rivals. However, if you are a proud owner of a superb Redmi Note 3, you might not be aware of some of these cool tricks.

To customize the notification lights, simply go to: Settings > Additional settings > Notification light. You can set different colors for Call, Messages and Notifications from the choice of colors available on the list. Really cool.
MIUI 7 gives you the option to set 6 different text sizes on your phone from XS (extra small) all the way up to a massive XXL. To change the text size on Redmi Note 3, go to Settings > Text Size and select your desired font size.
Reading Mode which changes the screen color to yellow and filters blue light for a more comfortable reading experience. This yellow display is easy to read and it does not harm your eyes while reading in the dark. To enable it, select Reading Mode from Quick settings toggles or go to Settings > Display > turn on Reading Mode. You can also adjust the strength of the yellow light and select the apps to use with reading mode.
Operating a 5.5-inch device with one hand might be difficult for people with smaller hands. Fortunately, MIUI 7 offers an option to enable One-handed mode where you can reduce the display size by up to 3.5-inches. To enable this setting, go to Settings > Additional Settings > One-handed mode, then swipe your finger from the home button to left (Recent) or right (back) to choose where you want it to appear.
To take a screenshot, you have to press the volume down button and left menu button together. You can also select Screenshot toggle from the notification panel to capture a screenshot.
To activate just go to the device Settings > Notifications & status bar > turn on Show Connection Speed. This will display the current network speed on the status bar.
Redmi Note 3 has a dedicated Child mode which allows you to select the apps you want to keep accessible to your child, so if you lend your phone to a child, they can only see the apps you want them to see. To activate Child Mode, go to Settings > Child Mode > tap on child mode > Select accessible apps in the Child mode. You can also set a password to use this feature for enhanced security.
Lite mode provides a simple interface and big icons with minimal customization for adding Apps to the home screen. To activate Lite mode, go to Settings > Lite Mode > you will be prompted to reboot > click OK and the phone will restart in Lite Mode.
