● Amazing aesthetic design
● High-end specifications
● Lightweight design
●the price is too high
The Alienwares announced two new models of the game - the purpose is to "enhance" the user's mobile gaming experience. The two new games released by Alienwares are m15 R2 and m17 R2.
These two new Alienware games are upgraded and improved from previous models, featuring new technology and enhanced design to improve the user's gaming experience.
At the 2019 Taipei International Computer Show, we conducted a short-term trial of the Alienware m15 R2.
● Magnesium alloy body
● Two color combinations for users to choose from - white and black
● 9th generation Intel processors from Core i5 to Core i9-9980HK
● NVIDIA Geforce series graphics cards including GTX 1650/1660 Ti, RTX 2060/2070 or RTX 2080 Max-Q
● 8/16 GB DDR4 memory with clock frequency of 2666Mhz
● Dual Raid 0 SSD storage system with multiple capacities
● Killer Networking E2600 / E3000, Intel dual-band wireless connection, Bluetooth 4.2
The Alienware m15 R2 has been “completely” refined and redesigned with a new design and form factor. Its new style looks quite stylish, and the m15 body is made of low-density magnesium alloy to reduce weight and size.
The Alienwares said that the new m15 and m17 are the "slightest and thinnest" games ever produced by the company, but they are sure to get the attention of users.
The crisp and crisp design makes them stand out from the comparison with similar products. A variety of eye-catching aesthetics make the m15 R2 recognizable at a glance.
At a glance, the user notices the cellular ventilation system at the bottom of the display screen, at the top of the C-face, and some very cool light from the improved new keyboard. But in our opinion, the color of the Alienware's new notebook is really conspicuous.
The m15 is available in two color combinations - white and black. The former is a clean white design that truly shows the cool lines and superb beauty of this notebook. It will certainly draw attention in more ways.
The new m15 is powered by a ninth-generation Intel Core processor and NVIDIA graphics card, and is available in a variety of configurations. Users can choose from a variety of processors from the Core i5 to the high-end Core i9-9980HK, from GTX 1650 to RTX 2080. Of course, if users want to get the most satisfying experience from this game, they need to pay a "higher price" for processing powerful components.
Certain design factors make even the new gamebooks with low models offer satisfactory performance. For example, Alienwares only configure solid state drives as storage systems for the new game. They don't have traditional hard drives based on low-speed platters, only high-speed SSDs and PCIe M.2 SSDs.
In order to support high-end specifications and take full advantage of the performance advantages of the ninth-generation Intel Core processor, the Alienwares have further improved the design of the new game book compared to the previous generation, including the latest Alienware Cryo-Tech. 3.0 heat dissipation architecture design, the performance of heat dissipation has been further improved.
Thanks to the large-sized fan blade design, the air passage is further optimized. It is reported that the Alienware m15's heat dissipation capacity is 20% higher than that of the previous generation m15, which provides strong support for better heat dissipation and higher performance.
The new notebook cooling system design includes the air inlets on the C and D sides, so that the cold air is “circulated” inside the fuselage and blown out from the back and side vents.
The new Alienware gamebook also features a new dynamic thermal control technology. This system uses gyroscopes and accelerometer technology to determine whether the user is placing the game on the knee or on the table to play the game and adjust the cooling capacity accordingly. When playing games in a fun way, users no longer have to worry that their thighs will be too hot to love.
Another highlight of the m15 is the new "Alienware Command Center." It is said that its role is to maximize the performance of the notebook when running the game; under normal use, the "Alone Command Center" can extend battery life. Automatic optimization of the system can give you a powerful gaming experience.
If the user wants to further improve the performance of their game book, this tool also allows users to perform "simple and intuitive" overclocking.
● Upgraded 15.6-inch OLED display
● Improved screen display with support for 60, 144, 240Hz refresh rates
● Refresh rate of 240Hz display, color gamut is 100% sRGB
● The contrast ratio is 1000:1, the brightness is 300 nits, and the response time is 7 milliseconds.
● Tobii eye tracking technology becomes standard
The new Alienware m15 R2 offers a range of options for the display, depending on the user's needs and the desire for the game. Of course, wallet drums are also an important aspect.
The entry-level model features a full HD display with a refresh rate of 60Hz, but this is not the only display that the user can choose.
Users can choose an OLED display with a resolution of 4K, and the visual effect is amazing. The display's superior visuals include 1 millisecond high-speed response time, 100,000:1 contrast ratio, 400 nits brightness and 60Hz refresh rate.
Users can also choose a display with a high refresh rate, one of which has a refresh rate of 240 Hz, a color gamut of 100% sRGB, a contrast ratio of 1000:1, a brightness of 300 nits, and a response time of 7 milliseconds. Another model display refresh rate is 144Hz.
These higher-refresh models also support Tobii Eye Tracking, a technology that tracks the user's head posture, position, eye gaze, and movement, and uses that data in the game.
During the game, users can't notice the existence of Tobii eye tracking technology, but it has been around for a while and has been applied in the latest games, including "Division 2" and "Tomb Raider: Shadow of the Tomb Raider and Assassin's Creed Odyssey.
The technology also supports live broadcast services. If you prefer to broadcast live, users can use eye tracking technology to show viewers where they are staring at the game. This is an excellent way for professional players to show their game technology.
Compared with other Alienware games, the new gamebook has the narrowest display frame, which can provide users with a great gaming experience. When we looked at the display at close range, we were shocked by its outstanding performance. Rich colors and stunning visual effects are the goals of this game, and models with OLED displays will also impress.
Increased keying with new and improved concave design
● Each key supports RGB lighting
● Positioning accurate glass material touchpad
The Alienware said that for the keyboard design and construction of the new m15 R2, it "at any cost." In fact, some of the Alienwares' arguments are quite bold, claiming that the new gamebook has "the best keyboard in the game."
The new keyboard design includes an 1.7 mm keystroke, enhanced concave texture, and RGB backlighting and tactile sensation for each button.
Coupled with the new notebook's precise glass touchpad, users will get a full range of enhanced gaming experience.
According to our short-term trial of the Alienware m15, we believe that this game is not only a high value, it is certainly an amazing utility, especially for white models.
The new m15 comes in a variety of sizes, and the entry-level model costs $1,499. Although it is expensive, users who buy it will definitely feel value for money.
If the user is looking for a lightweight, compact but powerful game book that can help kill the enemy in the game, then the new m15 is probably your dish.
In addition, the Alienware also released the new m17 - m17 R2, its configuration in the processor, graphics card, memory is the same as m15 R2. The advanced cooling system is designed to increase heat dissipation by 25% over the previous generation.
In terms of interfaces, m17 R2 will not disappoint users. It contains several USB ports as well as HDMI and Mini Display Port ports.
The m17 R2 features a full HD resolution 17.3-inch OLED display with a color gamut of 73% sRGB and a brightness of 300 nits. In addition, it also has a model with a refresh rate of 144 Hz and a response time of 9 ms. Compared with the m15 R2, the m17 R2 is not equipped with a 4K resolution display model or a 240Hz refresh rate display.
