David Cui, CFO of Huami, recently confirmed that the Xiaomi Mi Band 4 will be launched this year, although it has not yet advanced the specific date. However, a document filtered from Launch Studio, a portal that belongs to the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG).
As one of its main novelties, the Xiaomi Mi Band 4 will come with support for Bluetooth 5.0, which will allow you to offer more stable connections when connecting with other devices and transfer data. This technology is already a standard in the whole industry, but Xiaomi wanted to wait until the fourth generation to get on the train.
According to the document, the wearable will be available in two variants, one with NFC. With the Xiaomi Mi Band 3 made a similar movement, offering a model that offers this feature to make payments in some countries. It is still too early to say that they will expand this function to more territories.
Little else is known about the new device. Rumors talk about the possible integration of a color OLED screen, and a larger size compared to the current model. Some health-related novelties, such as an ECG monitor and other extra functions to measure daily physical activity, cannot be ruled out. With regard to price, it will surely remain equally affordable.
