On the Android 10 Q beta that is currently available on compatible smartphones, there is a dark theme that conveniently darkens the entire interface. The problem is that the method to activate this night mode is not very intuitive. It is indeed necessary to go through the energy saving options. However, this limits the performance of the device.
Fortunately, Google is working on this point to make it easier to activate the dark mode. As announced at Google I/O 2019, this feature will be directly accessible from the shortcut panel in the final version of Android 10 Q. All you have to do is press the tile provided in the panel to blacken the interface without reducing performance.
We hope that the final version of Android 10 Q will be quickly ready to take full advantage of this improvement.
In the meantime, we explain in a tutorial how to enable the dark theme via the energy saving options in the Android Q beta.
