Android 10: the list of compatible smartphones and their deployment date

ByAdan Flannigan 2019-09-24 743

The latest Android update, Android 10, has been officially available on several smartphones since September 3, 2019 (and even earlier in beta). Here is a list of currently compatible devices. This article will be updated regularly with the date of update of smartphones and tablets as the manufacturers' official announcement.

On the occasion of the Google I/O, 15 additional devices, from 12 different brands, received the update to Android 10 beta 3. The official launch took place on September 3, 2019 with a deployment on Google Pixel and Essential Phone. Other manufacturers have since announced their update schedules.

Below is a list of all smartphones and tablets that have received or will officially receive an update to Android 10. Note that this list will be updated as manufacturers announce, which is why some devices do not appear. Samsung, for example, generally remains very discreet about its update schedule and only communicates on the subject at the last minute.

Asus

The Asus Zenfone 5z is one of 15 smartphones to have received Android 10 since its beta phase on May 7, 2019.

We imagine that the smartphone should therefore be updated fairly quickly, as well as other smartphones of the brand, such as Zenfone 6.

Asus has not yet communicated about his other smartphones (Zenfone 5, etc.). This does not mean that they will not be updated.

Essential

Essential, the brand of Andy Rubin (Android's dad) is like Android P in the list of manufacturers to offer Android 10 in the beta. The Essential PH-1 is one of 15 smartphones to have received Android 10 since its beta phase on May 7, 2019.

Although the Essential Phone will not have had a long life with merchants, this does not prevent it from always being among the first to receive its updates. It should be remembered that in 2018 he was the only one to receive Android 9 Pie at the same time as the Pixels.

Essential has not yet announced any other smartphones.

Google

Master of both hardware and software, Google is obviously in the front row to offer the latest updates on its smartphones. It is therefore not surprising that the Pixels are the first to benefit from it.

What is a little more surprising is that even the first generation is entitled to this update.

Honor

Linked to Huawei, Honor generally follows the Chinese giant closely when it comes to update deployments. Some smartphones have already been confirmed to receive Android 10.

Honor has already confirmed that his first 2019 flagship will be updated to Android 10. While doubts persisted for a while about this deployment, Honor wanted to reassure consumers by assuring them that it would happen.

Huawei

Huawei's interface makes many changes compared to Google's. Despite this, the manufacturer participated in the beta of Android 10 before experiencing a big setback because of the U.S. government.

The Huawei Mate 20 Pro was one of 15 smartphones to receive Android 10 in its beta phase on May 7, 2019. However, following the American sanction, the brand had to remove its device from the beta program before reintegrating it.

LG

LG was one of the manufacturers to offer Android 10 in its beta phase.

LG G8 ThinQ is one of 15 smartphones to have received Android 10 since its beta phase on May 7, 2019.

Nokia

Nokia offers all its smartphones on Android One, a version of the system very close to what Google offers, which is supposed to allow faster deployment of updates (at least security updates). It is therefore not surprising to see the manufacturer being among the first to announce smartphones receiving Android 10.

Nokia 8.1 is one of 15 smartphones to have received Android 10 in its beta phase on May 7, 2019 and HMD Global has already published its roadmap for product updates.

OnePlus

Very reactive on updates and already present during the deployment of Android P in beta, it is not surprising to see OnePlus among the first to offer the Android 10 beta.

OnePlus 6T is one of 15 smartphones to have received Android 10 since its beta phase on May 7, 2019. OnePlus 5 and 5T will also be eligible.

OnePlu 7 and 7 Pro received the update to Android 10 at the end of September 2019.

Samsung

Samsung is always one of the last to give its update schedule. The manufacturer generally modifies the interface in depth and does not wish to advance on promises that it could not keep.

At the moment, Android 10 update is not planned on any Samsung smartphone. However, there is no doubt that he will be in the five flagships of the year. A supposed list of smartphones that will receive the update has been published, but without confirmation.

Sony

As last year, Sony has pushed one of its smartphones into the list of devices updated as early as the Android 10 beta.

After Xperia XZ2 last year, it's Sony Xperia XZ3's turn to be updated to Android 10 as soon as it's beta in May 2019.

Sony is generally quite fast enough to deploy its updates on its high-end devices, even if they are already a few years old.

Tecno

You certainly don't know this brand and yet: it is one of the first to offer Android 10 on one of its smartphones.

The Tecno Spark 3 Pro is one of 15 smartphones to have received Android 10 in its beta phase on May 7, 2019.

Vivo

Vivo is the manufacturer to have offered the Android 10 beta on the most smartphones at once with 3 compatible devices as of May 7, 2019.

Three smartphones of the brand received the Android 10 beta 3 on May 7, 2019: the Vivo X27, the Vivo Nex S and the Vivo Nex A.

Xiaomi

Xiaomi had already offered Android P on its Mix range in the beta phase in 2018. A year later, the policy remains the same and even extends a little bit to the Mi range.

The Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5G and Mi 9 received the Android 10 beta on May 7, 2019.

Xiaomi is generally rather reactive on the deployment of its updates, but you have to wait for a complete update of MIUI to take advantage of it. However, it is not impossible that a "stock" update may be available on the two smartphones that received the beta.

In June 2019, Xiaomi began communicating on the deployment of this update and promises to arrive in Q4 2019 on many of its smartphones, including Mi 9, Mi 8, Mi Mix 2s and Mi Mix 3. The Redmi Note 7 will receive the update in early 2020.
