Dell G-series gaming notebooks are known among gamers as affordable solutions and excellent alternatives to expensive Alienware. This family is quite new, as it appeared only last year as a branch of Inspiron Gaming 7577. As we remember, Dell updated the G7 series on CES 2019 (OLED displays and graphics cards Nvidia RTX), and now, on Computex 2019, came the turn and the devices of the G3 line.
The updated G3 15 3590 is designed to replace last year's model. For this purpose, it has appeared on board Intel Core 9 processors and Nvidia GeForce GTX 16XX graphics cards (up to Core i7-9750H and GTX 1660 Ti). The notebook has become thinner (21.6 mm vs. 22.7 mm) and now has a four-zone RGB-backlit keyboard, but retained the color "ice blue".
Given that the G3 series is the most affordable of Dell's gaming solutions, it's no surprise to find savings on various components. For example, the case is made entirely of plastic, so the notebook looks like a cheap device, unlike the metal Alienware and XPS. Also, here we will never see things like OLED, 240Hz, RTX, Thunderbolt 3, Core i9 and 4K UHD.
Deliveries of Dell G3 15 3790 are scheduled for early June. The model will compete with other budget solutions like Asus TUF FX505, Acer Nitro 5 and MSI GF.
