Dell XPS 15 9580 (2019): specs, release date, price and features

Dell will release a new version of its XPS 15 laptop in June. The new model will feature ninth-generation Core H processors, a GTX 1650 gpu, and a 4k oil screen is available as an option. The webcam moves to the top edge of the screen.

Dell hasn't officially announced the new XPS 15 yet, but Frank Azor, head of Dell's XPS and Alienware departments, is announcing the details to The Verge. No pictures have yet been published of the new XPS 15, but its appearance would be similar to the current version, except for the placement of the webcam.

With the current XPS 15, the waebcam is in the lower edge of the screen. This was also the case with the XPS 13 and Dell has already released a new version of this model with the webcam at the top of the screen. In terms of price, the new model would be comparable to the current versions. On the Dutch Dell website the cheapest model currently costs 1619 euros.

Dell is going to release variants with octacore processors. Intel announced this Core i9-9980HK and Core i9-9880H Tuesday. Probably there will also be variants with hexacores like the Core i7-9750H. The video card in the new model is the GeForce GTX 1650 that Nvidia announced on Tuesday. The current XPS 15 contains a GTX 1050 Ti.

When the new XPS 15 is released in June, there will also be a model with a 4-oled screen. At the beginning of this year it was already announced that such a version would be released. Dell uses Samsung's 15.6" OLED panel for this, which will connect to several laptops. The additional cost of the OLED screen is not yet known.

On Tuesday, Dell announced more new laptops with ninth-generation Intel processors and new GeForce CPUs. New variants of the Dell G5 and G7 gameplay laptops will be introduced, and the Alienware m15 and m17 will also be equipped with the GTX 1650 or 1660 Ti. At the end of May there will also be a version of the Dell G7 15 with the 4k oil screen. The price is not yet known.
