EACHLINK H6 Mini TV Box - BLACK EU PLUG | |||
$55.99 |
The first thing that will make you notice the EACHLINK H6 out of the long row of Android TV boxes is that it does not really look like a TV box — it actually looks more like a VCR than your average TV box. And it’s all because of the rectangular LED screen that takes up almost all of the box’s front panel real estate. The screen is not just for show: you will be able to see time and date and other data on the bluish display and enjoy a better visual control of your media playback.
Other than that, the EACHLINK H6 is quite standard in its looks. You get all the necessary ports: 2 USB ports (USB 2.0 and USB 3.0), HDMI 2.0, SPDIF, DC in, IR extension, LAN and AV out. Plus, there is the SD card slot. On the top, you'll see the box's logo and on the bottom there are four "feet" for better stability.
The box measures 3.78 x 3.78 x 0.75 inches and weighs just about 120 grams. For external connectivity, the box supports Bluetooth 4.1 — a quick and easy way to hook up earphones, speakers, streaming devices and more.
On the inside, the EACHLINK H6 has more surprises. First, it's one of the few budget Android TV boxes we've seen to support 6K output, which is currently the highest resolution signal available for home movies. This means that if you want to stream truly immersive quality videos, the EACHLINK H6 will let you do that. Plus, the TV box supports 5.1 surround sound letting you get even closer to that home cinema feel.
To make sure your media experience is smooth and uninterrupted, the box employs the speedy Allwinner H6 quad core processor paired with Mali T720 GPU. With that, you get 3GB of RAM for efficient multitasking and working with multiple apps as well as 32GB of native storage, quite enough to keep you basic media collection right on the box. If you do need more, there is always the option of expanding storage externally with the maximum of 64GB.
Another piece of good news is that the box features H. 265 decoding and is capable of efficiently compressing your media without losing out on the quality.
The EACHLINK H6 runs on Android 7.1.2, a good choice to frame the TV box's functionality and make sure you fell right at home with the responsive familiar display and easy app management.
The box comes with a handy remote control so you can take charge of things without interacting with the box itself — there is also an HDMI cable, a power adapter and a user manual in the box.
So, there you have it — a compact mid-range Android TV box for $55.99 with quite a few notables to enjoy: an interesting design with the screen on the front, a powerful processor with a good amount of RAM, a decent amount of storage with the option to expand it and, most impressively, 6K output support. Will you be able to turn your TV into a home cinema with just this one purchase? Probably not. But what you will be able to do is significantly enhance your media experience and get access to loads of new content including plenty of cool apps and games from the play store.
