Google Clock becomes compatible with YouTube Music, for smooth waking up

After Spotify, it's YouTube Music's turn to be compatible with Google's Clock application. A feature that allows you to wake up to your favorite music.

What could be more pleasant than waking up to the rhythm of your favourite songs? YouTube Music subscribers, rejoice since the streaming service is now compatible with Google Clock, version 6.1. It is now possible to associate your YouTube Music account with the Clock application and navigate through many tracks. This allows you to define an artist, an album or a playlist of your choice as an alarm clock. Enough to satisfy the less early risers among us. However, this feature is reserved for premium subscribers of the Youtube Music application.

YouTube Music had already been waiting for several months on the Google Clock application. Indeed, Google's music streaming service is lagging behind its competitor Spotify. The latter was already compatible with the Clock application since August 2018. Funny strategy for Google, which let one of its competitors exclusively use this feature for almost six months.

Let's note that Google's strategy around YouTube Music is perplexing because this platform has been co-existing with Play Musique for several months now.

In recent months, Google's Clock application has been enhanced with some useful new features. First of all, the arrival of a dark theme, allowing you to set your alarm in your bed without burning your retina. We can also mention the slightly revised interface at the end of 2018 and the exclusive functionality dedicated to the Pixel 3 which imitates sunlight to avoid sudden awakenings. But it is above all the recent compatibility with the Routines of Google Assistant that is interesting on a daily basis. For example, the alarm clock can trigger light bulbs in your home or even raise the temperature of the heating system.
