Although it is already known that Halo: The Master Chief Collection will support the cooperative campaign and multiplayer on the PC, as well as on Xbox One, the company did not say if there will be crossplay. It is also unclear whether people who have already purchased the edition of Xbox One will receive the edition for PC at no cost as part of the program Xbox Play Anywhere.
To ensure that all the features and performance of the games are in perfect condition, Microsoft has adopted an exclusive release schedule for the collection on PC: each title within the game will be released one by one. According to 343 Industries, the studio responsible for Halo, this will allow a superior quality to games. This process will begin with Halo: Reach with the following releases in chronological order: Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST (campaign only) and Halo 4. The 343 is working on the editions for computer along with the external studios Splash Damage and Ruffian.
"Halo: Reach, Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST (Campaign) and Halo 4 could be purchased at MCC as soon as they are available," says a line from the Microsoft press release. For Halo: Reach, specifically, players will receive campaign, multiplayer and Firefight (coop mode), although it is unclear whether they are combined into one purchase or each sold separately.
Halo: The Master Chief Collection for PC will be available through Microsoft Store and Steam, although the price of each title has not yet been announced.
