An alleged photo of the Pro model is circulating on the net, which differs from the other two versions: While Honor 20 and Honor 20 Lite probably each have three camera lenses on the back, the company apparently uses four in the Honor 20 Pro. According to speculation, the four lenses resemble the equipment of the Huawei P30 Pro from the parent company. Instead of the Huawei SuperSpectrum sensor installed there, however, the Honor 20 Pro will probably get an IMX600 sensor from Sony that resolves with 40 megapixels. The periscope zoom of the P30 is apparently foregone by Honor. The other lenses could be wide-angle and telephoto lenses as well as a depth sensor. In addition to the camera equipment of the Honor 20 Pro, the design of the back of the smartphone is also reminiscent of the P30: the light blue housing strongly resembles the color option "Breathing Crystal" of the Huawei colleague.
Further details about the Honor 20 (Pro) may seep through shortly, because a mishap has happened to one of the company's employees: The man had a prototype of the new, still top secret smartphone with him over Easter, but lost it on his way from Düsseldorf to Munich! According to Honor, it's a device in a grey protective case - probably to avoid betraying the design to the outside world. Via social networks, the manufacturer asked the honest finder to return the mobile phone. Honor offers 5,000 euros as a finder's fee.
The incident is reminiscent of the launch of the iPhone 4, when an Apple employee lost a prototype of the smartphone in a pub. The finder sold it to an IT portal that immediately leaked the iPhone. Apple took action against the operators of the site, but could not prevent that the iPhone 4 was already known before the keynote.
At the beginning of March 2019, the first key data on the then still unannounced Honor 20 appeared on the Internet and gave an outlook of a strong endowment. According to a media report, this can be seen in pictures for the fee of 20 Lite and in a data sheet that had leaked out. According to this, the standard model and the economy version of the mobile phone each have three cameras on the back. For the Honor 20 they should be arranged individually, for the 20 Lite they should be housed in the same housing. On the back, Honor uses an LED flash and a fingerprint sensor after the pictures. More information about Honor 20 and Honor 20 Lite will follow in the next two paragraphs!
On the back of the standard model Honor 20 there is no visible fingerprint sensor - so it is probably behind the display, as is the case with many current top devices. According to speculations, a Kirin 980 processor is doing its job under the hood. The mobile phone is supposed to have its own sound chip for high-resolution audio playback, including a jack for headphones. A dual-frequency GPS controlled by artificial intelligence (AI) is just as much a part of the equipment as a 3,650 mAh battery. According to rumours, the three Honor 20 cameras have a resolution of 48, 20 and 8 megapixels; the mobile phone probably has a triple zoom. According to rumours, the OLED display comes with a screen diagonal of 6.1 inches and has the display recess called "Notch" in the form of a drop at the upper edge.
The Honor 20 Lite's main camera resolves at 24 megapixels according to the leak and is supported by an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens with a 120-degree viewing angle. The third camera is a depth sensor with 2 megapixels. This setup would be significantly weaker than the Honor 20. And the display? The pictures of the Honor 20 Lite show a display with rounded corners and drop-shaped notch. According to the report, there is a 32-megapixel self-shoot in the screen recess. The display should be 6.21 inches and have a resolution of 2340x1080 pixels. The computing work is probably done by a Kirin 710 processor with 4 Gigabyte (GB) RAM and 128 GB internal memory. The SIM card slot offers space for two SIM cards and a micro SD card. The battery has a capacity of 3,400 mAh. A 3.5 mm jack for headphones completes the equipment. According to the report, the Honor 20 Lite initially appears in the colours black and aurora (red), comes with the Android 9 Pie operating system and the Huawei EMUI 9 user interface and costs 280 euros.
According to the report, the Honor 20 comes in different price and equipment variants. The cheapest version has therefore 6 GB RAM as well as 128 GB internal memory and costs converted approximately 395 euro. A variant with 8 GB working memory and 128 GB internal memory costs about 450 Euro, while the equipment with 8 GB RAM and 256 GB internal memory costs about 500 Euro. Honor has not yet officially confirmed the information, but will probably announce Honor 20 soon: The predecessor Honor 10 appeared in April 2018.
