Vodafone recently announced that commercial 5G services using Huawei equipment will be operational in 15 cities in Spain on June 15.
It is reported that the Spanish cities that will soon operate commercial 5G services include Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia and so on, which will make Vodafone the first 5G network operator in the Spanish market, and Spain will become the first European country to launch commercial 5G services after Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
On May 30, EE, a British telecom operator, officially opened 5G services in six major British cities, including London, Edinburgh and Birmingham. The company also reiterated that it would continue to use Huawei's equipment in part of its 5G network infrastructure.
On the 12th, the German Federal Network Administration announced the end of a three-month auction of 5G spectrum, totaling 6.55 billion euros, or about 51.2 billion RMB, far exceeding the 3 billion to 5 billion euros previously expected by the German government.
The winning bidders include Germany Telecom, Germany United Internet, Vodafone and so on.
Earlier, German Chancellor Angela Merkel said that many countries in the world are using Huawei technology, and Germany also has relevant requirements for 5G networks, and that it will not be directly excluded from the door of the construction of 5G networks in Germany just because an enterprise is from a particular country.
