Huawei pointed out that the current OS system can no longer meet the needs. Take Android as an example, its code has been huge and redundant for many years, and it is difficult to guarantee the smooth experience of different terminals. Android code has exceeded 100 million lines. The Android Linux kernel also has 20 million lines of code, of which only 8% of the core code is invoked frequently.

In addition, at present, there are more and more connected terminal systems, which put forward higher requirements for security, software ecology, user experience and so on. For this reason, Huawei has built Hongmeng OS (Harmony OS) system.
