Huawei has only just unveiled the new flagship series P30 in Paris. Traditionally, the focus here is on the integrated camera. Later in the year, a new mate smartphone with newer hardware was to come. Huawei's product manager Bruce Li has now explained to journalists in Malayia that this is the case.

According to this, the Huawei Mate 30 is currently in the testing phase. This is expected to last five to six months, so the mate 30 will be unveiled in September or October, Li continued. Huawei usually shows the new members Mate series towards the end of the year.

Not many details are yet known about the Mate 30. The smartphone is expected to run with a new generation of processors, the Kirin 985. With similar CPU and GPU architecture, it is designed to deliver a higher performance than the Kirin 980. The Kirin 985 could also support 5G. In addition, a patent has appeared showing a smartphone with zoom camera and dual display. Again, it has already been suggested that Huawei could adopt this concept for the Mate 30. However, patent applications are not necessarily indicative of actual products.

No details are yet known about the camera in the Mate 30 (Pro). The presumption is that there are at least the same equipment here as in the P30 Pro. But there are also rumors of a five-time camera.
