Huawei MateBook X Pro review: daily business office laptop

My old computer has been used for five years,and the screen has become poor and the eyes have been hurt, coupled with being used for a long time resulting in the fact that its configuration and performance can not keep pace with the times. After negotiating with my wife, I quickly placed an order and purchased the Huawei MateBook X Pro in the gearbest .

I didn't casually pick laptops and place an order on a whim, but waited and compared them for a long time. After comparing the configuration between the computers and considering my own needs, I felt the Huawei MateBook X Pro exceedingly accorded with me. Soon after the order was placed, the computer had been sent to my home. I really wanted to record the process of opening the parcel of my favorite notebook, thus with this idea, I finally wrote this article. Let's take a look at it with me.

To be honest, I was a little excited at the time when I just received this express box. Personally I am keen on Huawei's products.And being a Huawei's flagship notebook ,the kind of MateBook X Pro has also shown a lot of exquisite efforts in design.Especially what surprised me is it has gained a great reputation since listed. After all, Huawei has produced many models of laptops in recent years ,but not many. It has been the first time that Huawei has created such a product in high-end price.I have had no thought of Huawei could provide such an excellent product and win the widespread praise.

Huawei MateBook X Pro: unboxing

At the moment of unwrapping the box, I have to compliment that the overall process is the most ceremonial moment I have experienced in the past year. Through a cardboard linkage design, the notebook will slowly rise from the package when the box is opened, leading people could not wait to pick up and use the notebook instantly. It is worth mentioning that the package does not cost too much, but the idea must be spoken highly valued.

After removed the thin film of my Huawei MateBook X Pro fuselage, its delicate gray body immediately caught my wife's eyes. I could tell from her eyes that she favored the design of the Huawei MateBook X Pro as well. For me, the A-side work of the MateBook X Pro is definitely beyond my expectations.

Huawei MateBook X Pro: design

From the arc of the light, the body of MateBook X Pro has an arc transition, and the notebook looks soft and sleek. In addition, the logo embedded in the front mirror screen is simple and elegant. The D side of the machine body is integrated aluminum, but there is no extra heat dissipation opening. The two sides opening seem to be loudspeaker but in fact it is the opening of the air intake, and the four supporting pads at the bottom of the notebook are also good-looking.The D-face of Huawei MateBook X Pro also looks fine workmanship. The opening and disassembly gaps of the bottom cover go quite well with the frame, and there is no chromatic aberration,which definitely reaches the level of workmanship of the flagship notebook. These details can be seen that Huawei has spent a lot of efforts on the MateBook X Pro. Looking at the 3.5mm and Type C interfaces on the body, you know that it is a really thin and light notebook. The thickest part is just 14.6 mm which is even thinner than Apple's 13-inch MacBook Pro.

Huawei MateBook X Pro: interface

Now that we've mentioned the side, let's take a look at what interfaces Mate X Pro provides. First, the 3.5mm headphone jack still exists. There are two Type C ports next to it. Although they look the same, literally they have different functions. The battery-marked port next to the headphone one is a standard USB3.0 Type C interface for charging, data transfer, video output, and so on. And the interface with a lightning sign next to it is the Thunderbolt 3 interface, which can support PCI-E X2. We can use this interface for more expansive functions, such as faster speed for transmission and driving 5K screen or external graphics card. On the other side, it has an A port USB 3.0 interface.

Turning on the notebook, you can see Huawei MateBook X Pro equips with a glass mirror screen with ultra-narrow bezel. When the screen goes out, its hiding effect is particularly good. The excellent screen display is one of the most touching advantages for me. When the keyboard surface is opened, you can see that is covered with a film,and there are two interesting features marked on it.

Huawei MateBook X Pro: other features

The first feature is the power button on the upper right corner, and it also serves as the button of fingerprinting unlocking. Many brands are now using optical fingerprinting to unlock, but I suppose Mate X Pro's capacitive fingerprint button is still a bit more user-friendly.

Another amusing part is the camera design. In order to achieve a three-sided narrow border screen, many notebooks are moved the camera from the top frame to the bottom frame. However,Huawei is so more innovative that its camera is placed on the top center of the keyboard. There is a camera not a button among the upper shortcut keys.As long as we press the relevant button gently , the mechanically constructed camera can pop up.

After entering the Win homepage, this screen provides me great visual enjoyment. The notebook is not very large in volume,but thanks to the narrowness of the frame, the screen appears to be large in size, and the screen shows bright enough.

Huawei MateBook X Pro: shortcoming

What makes me a little dissatisfied is the camera and heat dissipation. This camera doesn't contain any automatic triggering mechanism. Even if I pop it up, it won't automatically turn on . I have to open the software triggering video before I turn on the camera. In terms of heat dissipation, the MateBook X Pro has the heat dissipation port at the screen hinge, and the air outlet is downward,so the efficiency of the two air outlets is just so-so.

Huawei MateBook X Pro: verdict

Of course, I don't care much about the shortcomings. Working as a daily business office laptop, the Huawei MateBook X Pro just needs to be used for opening the web pages, sending and receiving emails, and drawing forms as smoothly as possible. In addition, the Huawei MateBook X Pro can provide up to 15 hours of web browsing. Its excellent endurance make me very satisfied. Book X Pro has definitely been worthy of the price, and not inferior to other brands of notebooks.It has a strong enough attraction in the same level of notebooks, so I finally chose this one.
