Huawei's new mid-range chip Kirin 720 exposure: 10nm process and will be released at 30th May

According to Huawei insiders, the company will launch a new Kirin chip tomorrow (May 30, Beijing time).The news pointed out that the new Kirin chip that will be launched tomorrow may not be the Kirin 985 that consumers expect, but the new mid-end chip of HiSilicon, Kirin 720, which is the successor of Kirin 710.

According to reports, Kirin 720 will be produced by TSMC and will adopt the 10nm process. The report also pointed out that Kirin 720 may be Huawei's last chip using ARM design core.

In July 2018, Kirin 710 was released with Huawei nova 3i and first appeared in the public. Kirin 710 uses 12nm process, has four ARM Cortex-A73 cores, the main frequency is 2.2GHz, used to handle complex tasks, and the other four ARM Cortex-A53 core frequencies are 1.7GHz, which is used to handle general tasks; The graphics processor (GPU) is the ARM Mali G51 MP4, while the Kirin 720 may be upgraded on the GPU and NPU to improve chip performance.

As a new mid-range processor, the positioning of the Kirin 720 is likely to be the Snapdragon 730.
