For now, we do not know how Huawei will handle the delicate situation in which he finds himself, following the hostile decree signed by Donald Trump. But in case the company could no longer have an Android license, it could draw its own operating system.
A few days ago, Huawei also said that if necessary, this operating system could be launched in China this year, then in the rest of the world in 2020.
Chinese media reported that this OS would be baptized HongMeng OS. But new information suggests that Huawei could also call this one "Ark OS".
The Android Headlines site recently discovered that Huawei has filed several trademarks, for HUAWEI ARK OS, HUAWEI ARK, ARK and ARK OS at the European Union Intellectual Property Office, May 24, 2019, less than a week after the announcement of Doland Trump's sanctions.
And this suggests that it may be the names considered by Huawei for its operating system, which should serve as an alternative to Android on the mobile of the firm.
But of course, it is quite possible that these marks were filed by Huawei as a precaution and he does not use them.
In my opinion, it is possible that Huawei keeps the name HongMeng OS for the Chinese market and that it uses the name ARK OS for the version of this operating system in European countries.
Regardless of the name of this OS, the hardest thing for Huawei will be to have a good catalog of applications for this operating system so that the OS does not end up like Tizen, Windows 10 Mobile, Firefox OS or BlackBerry 10.
But according to some rumors, this one would support natively the applications for Android.
