Tiger Lake series CPU will adopt Intel 10nm process, integrate Willow Cove microprocessor architecture and Xe core display.
Ice Lake will use the 11th generation (Gen11) graphic unit, while Tiger Lake will be Gen12.
UserBenchmark information indicates that this is a quad-core Y-series chip that belongs to Intel's ultra-low power Tiger Lake product line.
From the Gen12 low-power graphics engine and LPDDR4x memory support, it should be aimed at thin and light ultrabook or 2-in-1 devices.
In addition, the unknown Tiger Lake Y processor features a quad-core/eight-thread design with a base operating frequency of 1.2GHz and a core frequency of 2.9GHz.
Interestingly, UserBenchmark pointed out that the performance of this Tiger Lake chip was suppressed by about 83%, suggesting that the subsequent frequency may be significantly increased.
Compared to the Coffee i series of Core i7-8559U quad-core processors, Tiger Lake Y's single-core / quad-core / multi-core workload performance is 4% / 2% / 8% behind the former.
However, if compared with competing products, it is still 24% and 26% faster than the single-core/quad-core performance of the AMD Ruilong 7 3750H. If you look at the comprehensive multi-core performance score, this TGL-Y chip is only about 1% behind.
Finally, there are reports that Tiger Lake will be limited to Y-series and U-series chips, with a maximum core count of four cores.
