Intel second generation 10nm Tiger Lake-U running sub-exposure: beyond the Ryzen 9 3900X

Intel has launched 10nm Ice Lake 10th generation Core processor, based on the new Sunny Cove CPU architecture, 11th generation GPU core architecture, and according to the plan, next year will be Tiger Lake, with improved version of the second generation 10nm, with the updated Willow Cove CPU architecture, 12-generation Xe GPU core architecture.

From the current planning, Intel Ice Lake and Tiger Lake are only used for notebook mobile terminals (14nm will continue on the desktop for the next two years), but with the new technology and new architecture, the performance potential is not to be underestimated.

In the UserBechmark database, two Tiger Lake-U series low-voltage low-power new products (or two grades) have appeared in the database. The 15-25W thermal design power consumption range is covered by the standard. The specification detection is 4 cores and 8 threads, and the frequency is very high. The low reference is only 1.3GHz, and the acceleration is only 3.6GHz, but after all, there is at least one year since the release, and it is only the initial sample.

Although the frequency is so low, the performance is quite awkward. The CPU scores single core 146, dual core 286, and quad core 551 are basically linearly doubled, and all eight threads can get 701 points.

What is the level? The eight-generation Core Desktop flagship i7-8700K is also a single-core 140, dual-core 274, quad-core 544, and it is 6 core 12 threads, 3.7-4.7GHz frequency, 95W thermal design power.

AMD's flagship, average acceleration of 4.25GHz Ryzen 9 3900X is also completely suppressed, single core 140, dual core 277, quad core 553.

On the GPU side, Tiger Lake-U integrates a low-power version of the 12-generation LP, but the two test scores fluctuate greatly. One of the DX9 tests got 30.2FPS, slightly over the Intel UHD 630, and the other got 58FPS, which exceeded the AMD Vega 10.

The DX10 test got 28.8FPS, while the other got only 26.5FPS. Obviously the adjustment is still not perfect.

Although these are only the test data of the UserBenchmark family, and can not reflect the previous performance, but at least we can see that Intel's new architecture is indeed worth looking forward to.
