Apple is expected to incorporate a triple camera into the successors of iPhone XS and XS Max to be released this year. Steve Hemmerstoffer, known as @OnLeaks, got some additional details on the design of "iPhone XI" and "iPhone XI Max": they should keep the screen size, but adopt a glass back that creates a ring around each of the three lenses.
The images were posted on the CashKaro website. The iPhone XI should have a design very similar to last year's iPhone XS, with 5.8 inch screen, notch on top for Face ID and thin edges. The same would be true for the iPhone XI Max and its 6.5-inch screen.
Hemmerstoffer says the thickness of the notch and edges has been reduced on iPhone XI and XI Max, but almost imperceptibly. The dimensions of iPhone XI would be approximately 143.9 x 71.4 x 7.8 mm (9 mm if you include the rear camera); while iPhone XI Max would have 157.6 x 77.5 x 8.1 mm (9.3 mm if you count the camera).
The back of the iPhone XI and XI Max would be made of a single piece of glass, including the protrusion of the camera. We would have three sensors arranged in a triangular arrangement, plus the flash, brought together in a square module.
OnLeaks also mentions a very specific detail: the glass back curves out around each of the three lenses, creating a ring with a 3D effect. The cameras are protected by layers that can be sapphire crystal, material used in other iPhones. This is most noticeable in this image:
Also, the format of the "mute" button should change to be similar to the version found in older iPads. And the Lightning port remains at the bottom, without making room for USB-C technology.
According to Mac Otakara, Apple will launch five new phones this year. Three of them would just be updated versions of the iPhone XS, XS Max and XR with the same chassis and a new processor; while the other two would have triple camera and OLED screen.
