iRobot Braava Jet M6: specs, features, price and release date

Suction robots are good and beautiful, but wiping them through is usually still done by hand. The Braava Jet M6 is supposed to change that - at a proud price.

Even if the suction robot works so thoroughly, the chances are good that you will have to reach for the cloth manually at least once a week to wipe the floor. It would be nice if this task were done as soon as you get home. With the "Braava" series, iRobot has been offering a wipe robot series for some time now. The M6 is the latest model in the series and for the first time offers a function that was long overdue: communication with the suction robot.

iRobot Braava Jet M6: Features

The Braava Jet has only one task: to wipe thoroughly. For this purpose it offers wet and dry programs, which it carries out automatically depending on the cleaning cloth. If you choose the version without water, the robot "sweeps" the last grains of dust out of the rooms and collects the dirt in the cloth. If you choose the wet version, the Braava Jet sprays precisely in front of you and then wipes the floor in various patterns of movement. Either it travels back and forth several times, or it travels unique paths. The former is more thorough, the latter is faster. With its camera and sensor technology, iRobot promises that the Braava will wisely decide when to spray water and when not. Showers for electronics or socket strips should be avoided as well as stains on furniture.

iRobot Braava Jet M6: Smart Arrangement

The somewhat complicated "imprint coupling technology" ensures that the Braava Jet M6 talks to the suction robots from iRobot. If you own a Roomba i7+ or a Roomba S9+, the app gives you the opportunity to arrange the cleaning processes of the robots in such a way that the two coordinate and work together. First the i7/S9 sucks the apartment, then the M6 wipes. It won't get much cleaner without manual intervention.

iRobot Braava Jet M6: Prices and Availability

With the wiping robot, iRobot also says goodbye to the toy corner. A full 700 euros will be due from 12 July 2019 for the Braava Jet M6. Together with the latest suction robot, over 2,000 euros are due before the little helpers get to work. And that doesn't pay for the colliery yet: the wiping cloths either last only once (disposable cloths) or, according to the manufacturer, a maximum of 50 passes. After that - you suspect it - you can order new ones. Two pieces cost a mere 25 euros. How much does a human domestic help cost?
