Now, let’s dive into the details.
The Z6 Pro comes with a 6.39-inch display and follows the all-screen trend by employing a tiny waterdrop notch at the top. The screen is full HD+ (1080 x 2340 pixels) and comes with the aspect ratio of 19.5:9. The phone’s display comes embedded with a 6th gen photo-electric under-display fingerprint sensor and sports a nice set of features including DCI-P3 wide color gamut, HDR10, blue light filter, full-range DC dimming and more.
The phone measures 6.20 x 2.94 x 0.34 inches, weighs just 185 grams and is made primarily out of plastic. As for the color options, you are not getting too many options: the phone is available in Red-Black and Green-Blue.
Is the Lenovo Z6 Pro waterproof? Unfortunately, it is not. Like most modern smartphones, it will not mind if a few drops of water fall onto the screen, but taking the phone for a run in the rain or a swim in the pool without a waterproof case are out of question.
Cameras are often the most exciting part of any smartphone review — and this is especially true for the Lenovo Z6 Pro, which promises capture 100-megapixel photos.
The phone does come with a rather impressive rear camera setup:
● a 48MP primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture and PDAF
● a 16MP super wide-angle lens with 125-degree field-of-view and f/2.2 aperture
● an 8MP telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture and PDAF
● a 2MP dedicated video camera with f/1.8, 2.9µm, OIS and PDAF
● and a TOF 3D camera
The photography features that come along with that include super night scene mode, super macro, super wide-angle shot and more. Plus, you get a dual-tone LED flash and laser autofocus.
The phone’s most advertised camera feature, however, is something called Hyper Video — and you will actually see "HYPER VIDEO 48MP AI Quad camera" imprinted on the phone’s back panel right under where the cameras are. Hyper Video combines the phone’s hardware and software functionality to enable video features like super sports, macro, wide-angle and so on.
Z6 Pro’s Hyper Video relies on the the four different kinds of rear lenses, which can shoot video in a variety of styles .
On the front, there is a 32MP AI-powered selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture hidden in the phone’s waterdrop notch. The front-facing camera supports portrait mode as well as five built-in beauty enhancement effects.
The Lenovo Z6 Pro is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset, coupled with the Adreno 640 GPU. There are four combo options when it comes to RAM and internal storage: 512 GB + 12 GB RAM OR 256 GB +8 GB RAM and 128 GB + 6/8 GB RAM. The phone features Game Turbo offering an optimized gaming experience.
On the battery side, you get a 4000mAh built-in battery with 18W fast charging support. This should be enough for the phone to last through the day even with gaming and active use. Battery performance has been improved (compared to previous models) thanks, in part, to the
improved Coldfront liquid cooling system on the Lenovo Z6 Pro, which contributes to intelligent resource management. Unfortunately, there is no wireless charging onboard as of yet.
The Lenovo Z6 Pro was officially released on April 23rd and is now available for pre-sale in a number of online stores including GearBest. The Z6 Pro starts at around $430 for the 6GB + 128GB version. The most high-end variant of the phone (12GB + 512GB) is expected to be priced at over $730.
An interesting thing to mention here is that the company is also bringing a 5G version of the Lenovo Z6 Pro to China in partnership with the country’s three major telecom operators. The exact pricing and release date for the 5G version of the phone are not yet known.
