The patent will adds a second screen behind the traditional Surface Pro to compensate for missing information or summary displays on the home screen.
According to the patent description, the second screen designed by Microsoft is a built-in light-emitting screen, which is separated from the external surface by dielectric polarization film and diffuser, and then the light emitted by the light-emitting screen can present information on the external surface through dielectric polarization film and diffuser at one time. In a nutshell, this sub-screen adopts a multi-layer reflection mechanism.
At present, there are many kinds of mobile phones equipped with second screens, which can bring more convenience for our work and entertainment. However, there aren't so many devices that adopt the second screen on tablets right now, and Microsoft may change the way traditional design on tablets. This technology is likely to be used in the next generation of Surface products.
