In the long list of products that ASUS has presented in the Computex 2019 also have a new headset, the new Theta Series that has come with two members, a team with a very special 7.1 system and, on the other hand, the Electret. Let's see the characteristics of both below.

And we started with the new ASUS ROG 7.1, headphones that the Taiwanese brand has designed for and for players, with several features specially designed in them.

The first is that of its particular design of 7.1. As the brand told us in its presentation, the reality is that the channel ".1" of these systems is not very common to get implemented in most games. That is why the handset hardware is used with a driver that is barely used. That is why the ASUS Rog Theta 7.1 carry the surname but do not have the "piece". How can that be? Because in reality the frequencies that this driver would play would not be distributed in the other four. This achieves a higher audio quality in all games and, in those who are really prepared with 7.1, this ability is also available for the joint work of the entire team.

On the other hand, in addition to the construction, materials and appearance Premium and gaming, the new ASUS headphones have a microphone that integrates AI for the cancellation of sounds. This significantly improves the quality of the voice, something that surely has raised an eyebrow among the streamers who read these lines.

The algorithm system is capable of filtering up to 15 million sounds and the AI knows how to eliminate all those and only leave the player's voice, even if we have another person around the house talking at the same time.

ROG Theta Electret: for "thin" ear players

We are facing a few headphones that not only have a gamer side, but also for those who want an audio quality for higher level music. These headphones have both electret and dynamic drivers, the latter being fully analog with an impedance of 32 Ohm. They do it, therefore, compatible with any audio source from which we can obtain a high quality sound.

Explaining a little more what these electret drivers are, they are from the same "family" as the electrostatic ones, using a membrane that vibrates between two metallic stators to reproduce a wide range of sound. As those who know about this know, the only weak point of this technology is the bass ... but there the dynamic drivers come in to deal with all those low frequencies and thus obtain a full range of sound at all levels.

And in case you had doubts, no, these ROG Theta Electrec do not have a microphone with AI, like their electret drivers are only of this model, the microphone is a feature only of the 7.1.

Both price and launch will be in 2019, but we still have no concrete data, at least at the time of writing this article, of its arrival in the market.
