In order to increase the proportion of mobile phone screen and solve the problem of front-facing camera placement, some mobile phone manufacturers use the solution of adjustable camera, and some use perforated screen. However, a new trend seems to be developing, that of reverse notching or protruding designs.
The patent was submitted to the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) by vivo mobile communications in mid-2018. The patent was published in the global design database on May 14, 2019.
As you can see from the image, the first front-facing camera is in the middle, but off the screen. The design is very similar to the patents huawei has previously disclosed. The rear is equipped with a double camera, which is placed vertically on the left side. A 3.5mm headphone jack also appears to be reserved at the bottom. The second design has many similarities with the first model. But the top is completely different, with the front camera set apart to make the design look like a cat's ear. Except here, the two models are basically the same.
While there are currently no smartphones equipped with this bulgy solution, the Asus ZenBook S13 was released earlier this year. This is a laptop with a bump at the top of the screen. Therefore, a mobile phone with this design may be released in the future.
