Nintendo Switch Mini and Nintendo Switch Pro are on the way: are the new game console worth buying?

It's an open secret that the Japanese manufacturer is working on two versions of its star console: the Nintendo Switch Mini and the Nintendo Switch Pro. For now, we know rather little about these new models, but what should the manufacturer's simplest console have to be worth buying?

While the original Nintendo Switch has been a sales blast, the game console has some shortcomings. Especially because of the resolution of the portable screen, which remains at 720p. Obviously, the future Nintendo Switch Pro will have a better resolution in the controller, in addition to offering some new features, possibly a technical improvement, more resolution when playing content on a Smart TV ... But what about the Nintendo Switch Mini?

Autonomy, the great attraction of the Nintendo Switch Mini

The Nintendo Switch's on-screen controller works with an NVIDIA Tegra processor, and the new version is expected to feature a new processor that would be up to 20 percent more powerful than its predecessor. So far so good, but there's a great but with the portable mode of the Switch: its small autonomy.

It must be acknowledged that some games, with minimum brightness and in airplane mode, offer an autonomy of up to 5 hours. But if you want to enjoy a triple A game with maximum brightness and an Internet connection, it can't last more than two and a half hours on.  Yes, we can add external batteries, but that's not the solution. That's why the Nintendo Switch Mini should work in this section to offer more than solvent autonomy.

Power or price adjusted?

This is where the second point comes in that can decant sales in favour of the Nintendo Switch Mini. It's a fact that the most vitamin-rich model will have improved hardware, but would the mini version be missing? We don't think so. It is much better to continue to take advantage of the same NVIDIA Tegra processor as the original Nintendo Switch, to extend the battery of the portable console to offer a better autonomy, and to reduce the price of the Nintendo Switch Mini to make it more attractive to the public.

If something works, don't touch it: the design of the Nintendo Switch must be maintained in the mini version

The design of the original console controller is really solvent. And it would be ideal if the mini version continued with this type of design. Why would we want the removable controllers? To have the option of connecting the console to a Smart TV through an HDMI output to continue playing taking advantage of a larger screen.

There's no need to offer a better resolution, as that would increase costs, but the idea of being able to use Nintendo's new handheld by connecting it to a Smart TV is a really interesting idea. Will you buy the Nintendo Switch Mini?
