NVIDIA has been criticized ever since. The fact that for many the RTX range is positioned far above price/performance over previous generations has not helped the lack of titles with an implementation of Ray Tracing techniques that NVIDIA proposed. This has led many to question whether it is worth updating their current graphics card for an RTX.

These 10 months have not gone by in vain and NVIDIA has continued to work closely with game developers to continue implementing their Ray Tracing technologies. As it happens, 3 of the most important PC games presented at the E3 videogame conference have NVIDIA Ray Tracing effects on them.

It's about the Watch dogs: Legion, the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and the much awaited Cyberpunk 2077. They are added to a list of games that is gradually growing. So there are already 16 games that implement some Ray Tracing effect from NVIDIA. The panorama of games, APIs and game engines that support NVIDIA Ray Tracing effects is this:

With hundreds of PC games hitting the market every year, 16 is undoubtedly still a small number. However, as implementation techniques and their more gradual incorporation into modern graphics engines, it is plausible to expect an acceleration of their deployment when the second generation of GeForce RTX graphics cards arrives, about which nothing is known at the moment.

Taking advantage of our time at the NVIDIA booth at E3 in Los Angeles, we were able to see in action the new Ray Tracing effects incorporated into the CONTROL game that goes on sale on August 27, 2019.
