Although many people declare that they do not need a camera for selfie and video calls, there are too few such users to convince any manufacturer to launch a smartphone without this element.
Every company simultaneously tries to fill as much of the front panel as possible with the display and the need to place a selfie camera and video calls on board does not make it any easier. The way out of this situation is to mount it on a retractable platform - for this solution is reaching more and more brands (recently also did it for the first time Huawei in the model P Smart Z).
The Oppo, however, went a little against the current, because it was the first and only one to design a platform in the shape of a shark fin. All in all, it is not known whether this was due to practical reasons or the simple desire to stand out from the competition, but the fact is that the Oppo Reno smartphones will not be the only devices in the brand's portfolio with such a solution.
A lot of the specifications of the new Oppo smartphone have appeared on the web, but the most interesting information is that the camera for selfie and video chat (with a resolution of 16 Mpix) will slide out of the inside of the housing on a platform in the shape of a shark fin, as in Oppo Reno.
In addition, the Oppo K3 will also be equipped with a 6.5-inch AMOLED display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio and Full HD+ 2340×1080 resolution, which will integrate a "new generation optical fingerprint reader". The heart of the smartphone will be an eight-core (8x Kryo 360; 10 nm) Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 2.2 GHz processor with Adreno 616 graphics.
Oppo K3 will offer 128GB of built-in memory as standard, and depending on the version, also 6GB or 8GB of RAM. The smartphone will also include a 16 Mpix + 2 Mpix dual main camera, 3.5 mm headphone connector, USB-C port and 3700 mAh battery with support for VOOC Flash Charge 3.0 20 W fast charging technology.
Interestingly, despite the rather exaggerated specification, the Oppo K3 housing is to be made of plastic.
So far, it is not known when this model will officially debut and how much it will cost.
