A device identified by "Poco F2 " would have passed the Geekbench Capability Test Tool. What strange, however, is the list of settings of the handset. The information tells that we will see a smartphone with Snapdragon 855 processor. So Long, all right. The problem, however, is because of the RAM, verified in 4GB, below the first model of the Pocophone, which features versions of 6GB and 8GB.
Even if the Xiaomi brand migrated to LPDDR5X memory (which is almost impossible to see how these modules are not yet mass produced and only Samsung can give a rough estimate of when this can happen), incorporating only 4GB of RAM, it will still be a Downgrade compared to last year, so we should not believe much.
A less suspicious but still doubtful feature suggested by the last leak is the operating system that will be pre-installed in Poco F2, as Geekbench has identified that the device was running the first development preview of the Android Q During the test. The last year's phablet debuted with the Oreo Android 8.1 before receiving an upgrade to the Android 9 Pie, and Xiaomi generally does not skip the generations of operating systems in any price segment, particularly when it comes to line tops.
Also, assuming that the Poco F2 can be released in August, that is, exactly one year after its predecessor, the Android Q can still be completely stable by then. According to Google's current roadmap, the first full version is scheduled for the third quarter of the year.
Regardless of the legitimacy of this leak, there is little doubt about whether the Poco F2 is coming after the immense success and critical acclaiming of its predecessor. With regard to smartphones purely focused on performance and value, the Pocophone F1 has literally surpassed all other devices launched last year. The Xiaomi Subbrand basically defeated OnePlus in its own territory and will certainly be seeking to solidify its position as the best high-end value option in the market.
Other rumors point out that the Poco F2 should have a significant improvement in its cameras, one of the main criticisms made to it.
