What about Realme 3 Pro against its competition? To analyze it, we face mobiles with similar features and price ranges, such as the Redmi Note 7, the Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite, the Huawei P30 Lite or the Samsung Galaxy A30.
One thing that all Android manufacturers have agreed on this year is to integrate the front camera into a small notch, commonly referred to as a drop, although there are actually a couple of variants depending on the curvature.
All have drop-shaped notch except the Mi 8 Lite, which has a wider notch.
It is therefore not a big surprise that practically all the mobiles we are comparing have this type of notch. There is only one exception, the Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite with its slightly wider notch that reminds us that it was technically introduced in 2018. Those were other times, and the notch, bigger.
Unanimity in the notch and also in the size of the screen. All of them are about 6.3 inches from Realme 3 Pro, a few tenths above or below. This translates into bodies of similar dimensions, delimited at the top with the Redmi Note 7 -the highest with 159.2 mm- and at the bottom by the Huawei P30 Lite, with 152.9 mm high. Speaking of thickness, the Realme 3 Pro is the most plump with 8.3 mm.
If we talk about the RAM memory present in the system, basically we have two groups: those that have versions of 3 and 4 GB of RAM (Samsung Galaxy A30, Redmi Note 7) and those that have 4 and 6 GB of RAM (Realme 3 Pro, Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite, Huawei P30 Lite). It is an important difference especially when comparing the prices, because the 4 GB of RAM are for some the highest version, while in others it is the lowest.
In the processors in question there are more variations, as we have representation of all families: Snapdragon of Qualcomm, Kirin of Huawei and Exynos of Samsung. The Realme 3 Pro is the only one that mounts the Snapdragon 710.
It is not an abysmal difference, but with lithography of 10 nm and eight cores up to 2.2 GHz, on paper the Snapdragon 710 of Realme 3 Pro wins against the 14 nm of Snapdragon 660 of Redmi Note 7 and Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite, as well as Exynos 7904 of Samsung Galaxy A30. The most similar is his brother of another father, the Kirin 710 of 12 nm.
In the photographic section there are also two main groups: those who bet on a large number of megapixels and those who do not. The Realme 3 Pro is a more moderate bet, with a 16 + 5 MP rear camera, practically identical to the Samsung Galaxy A30 and similar to the Xiaomi Mi 8 with its 12 + 5 MP.
Two models stand out from the rest. The Redmi Note 7 has a 48 megapixel main lens, the same as the Huawei P30 Lite although in this case the camera is triple. Where the Realme 3 Pro takes the record is in the front camera with its 25 megapixels.
With an official price of 199 euros for 4+64 GB and 249 euros for 6+128 GB, the Realme 3 Pro arrives in Spain with an approach similar to Xiaomi's: to bet on the best quality/price ratio while maintaining sufficiently attractive specifications.
If we compare the price of the 4 GB versions of RAM, present in all of them, we have the same price for Realme 3 Pro and Redmi Note 7 and similar to the Mi 8 Lite. Not everyone can keep these margins so tight, and the difference becomes more evident when we compare them with the 299 euros of the Galaxy A30 or the 349 euros of the Huawei P30 Lite.
