Samsung introduced its loudspeaker, which will use the smart assistant Bixby, last year together with the Galaxy Note 9. In February 2019, the Korean company announced that Galaxy Home would be released in April. This date was not met. Now Samsung's CEO for consumer electronics, Kim Hyun-suk, confirmed a new release period for the third quarter of 2019, SamMobile reports.
Don't worry, Galaxy Home hasn't been stamped. Samsung is just fine-tuning its Smart Speaker. The whole thing just took a little longer than planned. Kim Hyun-suk, CEO of Consumer Electronics, announced that the Galaxy Home speaker will be the hub of Samsung's home appliances and will be released in the middle of the second half of the year. The launch date was later corrected to the third quarter by another executive.
The AI speaker will help complete Samsung's IoT (Internet of Things) initiative, Kim added. He didn't give any details about the smaller version of the Galaxy Home, the Galaxy Home Mini. The Galaxy Home Mini, however, has already appeared on a list by the FCC, which suggests that the speaker's release won't be so long in coming.
