At the end of last year Samsung published an update calendar in which we saw the dates on which their models would upgrade to Android 9 Pie. There were all kinds, from the most expensive and important to mid-range terminals that have sold much more, but receive later updates.
Among them was the Samsung Galaxy J7 2017, a device that has been widely sold in Spain and Latin America. This mobile was put on sale two years ago with Android 7 Nougat and it was in October 2018 when it started receiving Android 8 Oreo.
This time we haven't had to wait that long for Android 9 Pie.
Samsung's calendar pointed out that July would be the month in which this model would start receiving Android 9, but it has been brought forward.
Some users have reported that this model is already receiving the update in our country, but not in other markets, at least for now. The firmware version is J730FXXU4CSF1 and in addition to the new version of Android include the security patch of greater than 2019 and One UI.
If you have not yet arrived you can try to force the reception by following these steps:
Step 1. Open the settings menu.
Step 2. Click on Software Update.
Step 3. Go to Manual Download.
Step 4. The update file will appear.
The biggest change users will see is not the fault of Android 9, but of One UI, the Samsung interface that is on all Android Pie mobiles. A new design, better features, more accessibility, better use at one hand ...
