Samsung has shown the Galaxy S11 - and no one has noticed!

Just a month ago, the Galaxy S10 is on the market -   GIGA is already speculating about the successor! Are we drunk, maybe even crazy? Neither. This week, Samsung unveiled a smartphone that might turn out to be a blueprint for the Galaxy S11 in the flashback.

Samsung was unimpressed. Responding to the growing competitive pressure from Huawei, the industry leader issued a challenge : "We will remain leaders in the next 10 years," said DJ Koh, who heads the Group's mobile division. Whether Samsung can keep this promise is likely to depend not least on the success of the Galaxy S series.

After the Galaxy S9 from last year could not live up to expectations, the South Koreans have created the Galaxy S10 again a real smartphone cracker, which is praised by the bank away. However, this could only be the first step on the road to a much more powerful re-fresh of the bread and butter series. An Outlook on the near future may provide the Galaxy A80 .

Samsung Galaxy A80: A Look at the Galaxy S11?

The camera of the Galaxy A80 is extended via a slider mechanism and rotates from the back (top) to the front (bottom).

Actually, a smartphone of the upper middle class, the Galaxy A80 especially captivates with two functions: the rotating camera and "Screen Sound." The first feature is the name of the program: Instead of two cameras to install, respectively on the front and back of the smartphone , the slider camera simply rotates 180 degrees and becomes a selfie snap. Thus, the full strength of the main camera is also available for the popular self-portraits. Another advantage: Due to the extension mechanism, a "notch" or a camera hole is no longer necessary. The entire front is taken from the display and looks pretty futuristic.

This is also possible because the Galaxy A80 does not have a classic earpiece anymore. In the "Screen Sound" feature, as the name suggests, the sound is generated by vibrations through the display.

Strategy change at Samsung: New features first in the smartphone middle class

In September 2018 , Samsung's cell phone boss DJ Koh announced that the group would no longer introduce new features first in the upper class, but in the middle class. Only then should the functions in the high-end series of the Galaxy S and Note series find their way. This suggests that the Galaxy A80 is actually a "test balloon" for Samsung. If the rotating camera and "screen sound" prove themselves in practice and accepted by the customers, then the two functions should sooner or later be transferred to Samsung's luxury smartphones.

For the Galaxy Note 10, it's probably already too late, the development is likely already here in the middle of the swing. It is more likely that the rotating camera and "Screen Sound" in the Galaxy S11 celebrate their upper-class debut.
