Samsung launches the Android 9 Pie update for the Galaxy M10 and Galaxy M20

The new Samsung Galaxy M family is starting to receive Android 9 Pie in full. Samsung's update schedule had foreseen this update for the first days of June, although a few days ago the warning on the Galaxy M30 jumped. Now the same thing has happened with the Galaxy M10 and Galaxy M20, which now begins to receive the excellence of Android Pie and Samsung's new One UI layer.

The owners of the new Galaxy M10 and M20 are in luck, because although their equipment came standard with Android 8 Oreo, Samsung has taken very little time to do their homework and fulfill their commitment. A few months ago, when Samsung introduced these equipment, the company already promised its prompt update to Android 9 Pie, a promise that begins to materialize.

Almost 2GB of update

The update is beginning to arrive progressively, with India being the first country in which users are updating, it was also the market chosen by Samsung for its sale as a priority market. The update also includes the security patch for the month of May its download, as is usual in patches of such importance, weighs about 926 megabytes for the Galaxy M10 and just over 1.8 GB for the Galaxy M20.

Although the sizes of the update are different, the change log throws the same news in both devices, except for the subtle difference that the Galaxy M10 is left without a camera scene optimization function. The update involves a full face-lift to the user interface and the inclusion of OneUI gesture navigation and a handful of new features, such as the ability to respond to messages directly from the notification bar.

Progressive arrival

As we say, the update is coming via OTA progressively, although you can always try to force the update from the options menu under "Software Update". Given the weight of the patch, it is recommended to be connected to a Wi-Fi network and have at least 20% available battery. If you do not skip the update will have to be patient until Samsung receives good feedback and release the patch for the other markets in which the Galaxy M are available.
