Samsung has officially released the new Galaxy Tab S6, a high-end Android tablet designed for productivity and entertainment needs. This makes it almost exactly the same as Apple's iPad Pro and Microsoft's Surface Pro. Like the opponent, the Tab S6 supports pen input (selling with the stylus) and can be connected to an optional keyboard cover.
The Galaxy Tab S6 will be available for $649 starting September 6, with 128GB of storage and 6GB of RAM. Available in 256GB of storage and 8GB RAM, the price is $729. Later in the year, there will be an LTE version of the Galaxy Tab S6, which can be accessed via a card.
The Galaxy Tab S6 is Samsung's most advanced Android tablet, which is part of the lineup with the low-end Galaxy Tab A and the mid-range Tab S5e. (While the tablet running Windows 10 seems to be a more marginal product) Galaxy Tab S6 contains a 16:10 10.5-inch OLED screen (2560 x 1600 pixel resolution), narrowing frame to make the whole machine smaller. Built-in face recognition login system and on-screen optical fingerprint scanner.
Samsung also adjusted the overall thickness and weight of the Galaxy Tab S6 tablet to 5.7 mm thick and 420 g (less than 15 ounces). There are four speakers on the edge, which means that no matter which side you are facing, there will be two speakers on each side that make up the stereo. Performance, the Snapdragon 855 processor is now standard for high-end models, 1 x 2.84GHz + 3 x 2.41GHz + 4 x 1.78GHz eight-core structure, 7040mAh battery can be used for up to 15 hours.
The back of the Tab S6 has a dual camera system with a standard lens and a 123-degree wide-angle lens with pixel values of 13 million and 5 million, respectively. The back is also the most interesting part of the tablet: a magnetic strip lets the attached stylus S Pen fit onto the tablet. Like the iPad Pro and Apple Pencil, the S6 can charge the pen when connected, and it will have a similar on-screen charging notification when connected. But placing the stylus on the back of the device is more clumsy than on the side, and it slips easily. To solve this problem, Samsung's optional keyboard cover provides a cavity that covers the stylus and may be less likely to be lost than using a magnet alone.
The S Pen stylus contains remote controls similar to the S Pen included with the Galaxy Note 9 smartphone, including the ability to control PowerPoint slideshows or remotely trigger camera shutters. There are also new gestures to scroll media and other features while holding the pen, and the same gestures are likely to be launched on the new Note 10 smartphone announced next week.
Samsung's keyboard cover accessory includes a small touchpad for $179. It is connected to the tablet via a set of pogo pins on the left side of the Tab S6. It can be separated from the back cover and the back cover can also be used as a stand to support the tablet.
On the software side, Tab S6 runs the Android 9 Pie and 1.5 version of the Samsung OneUI interface. It also supports Samsung's DeX interface, which provides a more desktop-like experience when using a tablet and keyboard. The new keyboard accessory has a function key to quickly launch DeX. The DeX can also be output to an external display using the USB Type-C port of the Tab S6.
