Segway-Ninebot MAX G30D electric scooter convinces with great equipment and an enormous range of up to 65 kilometers - practically no other model in this class can keep up. In addition, this scooter should be particularly reliable, robust and low-maintenance. Obviously, this model was designed from the beginning to be particularly suitable for E Scooter Sharing providers.

Segway Ninebot MAX G30D motor, acceleration and braking

The MAX G30 D has a powerful 350-watt rear-wheel motor, which provided a very impressive acceleration in our test. 700 watts peak power was not confirmed, but are specified for other versions (G30 in Austria). The test showed that the acceleration is slightly decelerated, but this can be an advantage when cornering. But then the engine also grips very powerfully, and when accelerating you almost feel a real thrust.

With the thumb throttle grip the acceleration was really well controlled. Even at speeds around 15 km/h the engine still responded very clearly when accelerating. Even gradients of up to 15% can be easily mastered with this scooter.

Segway Ninebot MAX G30D has extremely long mileage

The equipment of the MAX G30 D includes a strong 551 Wh battery, which should enable a range of astonishing 65 kilometers. This makes this E Scooter much more than just a vehicle for the famous last mile; you can also use the scooter perfectly for longer trips. Since the G30D was equipped with an integrated quick-charging power supply (5A), the charging process should be only 6 hours, despite the enormous range.

Segway Ninebot MAX G30D with stable tyres

The MAX G30 D has 10-inch air-filled tires. Since these are tubeless, the danger of catching a plate is relatively low. This type of tire is not quite as soft as conventional pneumatic tires, but it absorbs bumps in the ground much better than solid rubber tires.

The driving experience has always been extremely positive, even at top speed. It was noticeable, however, that even the smallest steering movements could be felt very clearly due to the relatively narrow handlebars. On the other hand, the scooter has always loosely put away weight shifts to the side when driving. It was even possible to take one hand off the handlebars without any problems while driving, without it becoming unstable.

Also the fenders did a very good job - while driving through puddles our test driver didn't get wet By the way, this scooter is very well protected against splash water on all sides (IPX5). Rain can definitely not harm this E Scooter.

Segway Ninebot MAX G30D weight

Already, at first sight, it becomes clear that this scooter looks extremely high-quality and stable. The workmanship is extremely good and clean, and the handlebar is very stiff. You will certainly enjoy this E Scooter for a long time.

But now we come to the small disadvantage of this E scooter: It has a weight of 18 kilograms (the sticker even says 19.5 kg). This is certainly due to the robust workmanship and the strong battery. Such a high weight considerably restricts the use as a classic last-mile vehicle, which can also be taken on public transport.

However, the quite high weight should not stand in the way of its suitability as a Sharing-E scooter in a modified form, as this model was originally designed.

Segway Ninebot MAX G30D display

In the middle of the handlebars of the MAX G30 D a clearly arranged display has been integrated. This shows the current speed, the battery charge level, and the driving mode. The lights can also be switched on and off via the control unit.

Other features

Of course, the MAX G30 D is equipped with front and rear lights. A brake light provides additional safety. A bell is also available.

This E Scooter is Bluetooth enabled. The Segway-Ninebot App can even be used to activate a special pedestrian mode. In this mode, the maximum speed is only 6 km/h - a great thing if you have to push the scooter. Class: A flashing rear light indicates that pedestrian mode has been activated. According to the BMVI, it is not possible to change the operating mode with a vehicle.

The scooter is foldable, whereby a hook at the rear wheel provides sufficient stability when carrying the scooter folded around.

Segway Ninebot MAX G30D Conclusion

The Segway Ninebot MAX G30D is a great, very rugged E scooter that will surprisingly be available at a very reasonable price (current RRP 799 Euros). Only the high weight of about 18 kg might be a disadvantage for some users, but this scooter benefits from very good workmanship, great handling and a really enormous range of up to 65 kilometers. If you're interested, you'll have to wait a little longer, as the scooter is not expected to be available in selected shops until the 4th quarter of 2019.
