We refer to the new Sharp Aquos R3 , a powerful flagship that incorporates the Snapdragon 855 processor, dual rear camera and, attention, dual notch. An idea that we saw in a prototype like the ZTE Iceberg but that Sharp has decided to materialize and carry out in one of its best phones for this year.
Most manufacturers choose to place the fingerprint reader in the back, however for many it is more comfortable in the front. And it is precisely one of the reasons why the integrated fingerprint readers on the screen are gaining traction. The Sharp Aquos R3 also has it in the screen space, but it is not integrated. To place it Sharp has decided to make a notch on the screen, still larger than we have at the top.
While the upper notch in the form of a drop of water is to locate the front camera, the lower 'notch' is larger and serves to put the fingerprint reader. An idea that breaks the symmetry of the phone but, on the good side, helps to quickly know which is the lower area.
The frames of the terminal are not very small, although yes, the rear area is quite clean with only the dual camera in the corner calling our attention.
The screen chosen by Sharp is a 6.2-inch IGZO panel with Quad HD + resolution in a 19.5: 9 format and a 120Hz refresh rate, a feature that previous brand mobiles also added.
At the level of internal characteristics, the Sharp Aquos R3 is a good level mobile. It is committed to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855, the best processor of the manufacturer for the first half of 2019. Next to it, accompany 6GB of RAM and a storage that part of 64GB, expandable by microSD.
Android 9 Pie is the version that accompanies this terminal. While the battery has 3200 mAh and fast charge, a somewhat limited capacity considering that by the thickness of the mobile, 8.9 mm, could have introduced something more.
At a photographic level, the Sharp Aquos R3 comes with a dual camera of 12.2 megapixels and an aperture lens f / 1.7 accompanied by a secondary sensor of 20.1 megapixels, an aperture lens f / 2.4 and a wide angle of 125 degrees.
For the front camera located in the small 'notch', we have a 16.3 megapixel sensor with an aperture lens f / 2.0.
The Sharp Aquos R3 comes in black, white, green, pink and red and will be available through operators such as NTT DoCoMo and Softbank. At the moment, the manufacturer has not given details about its price. It is also unknown if it will arrive outside Asia, although in the past Sharp has focused on the Japanese market. And it is beyond their availability, the most interesting thing is to see how the designs of mobile phones can be totally different from each other.
