The design of boxes is green, and in the upper right corner is a logo DIY. The manufacturer is taking serious steps towards integration with third-party systems. There are also icons about compatibility with Google Home, Amazon Alexa, IFTTT.
In the box, we found a relay, a fairly large remote control with 8 keys, instructions in 7 languages.
The remote control is rectangular, all in parallel or under 90 degrees. The size is 86 x 45 x 12,5 mm. There are 8 buttons on the front surface, about their purpose a little further.
The remote control works on the radio channel 433 MHz, which is logical, as such a relay is usually hidden and there is no possibility to control the IR remote control. The 27A 12V battery operated remote control is included in the package. To prevent discharge, one of its contacts is covered with a cardboard insert.
The Sonoff iFan03 I've met before had screw contacts, and ifan03 already has wires like Broadlind. 5 wires, 2 is the incoming phase and zero, and 3 is the output, total zero, phase for light and phase for switch
On the other hand, there are two antennas, one for wi-fi and the other for radio. This design ensures communication even with the deep hidden device in the wall.
The top cover has a single button that puts the device in pairing mode with the remote control and wi-fi network
The device parameters are duplicated at the bottom and, most importantly, all contact wires are signed. I strongly recommend that you check the phase and zero before connecting.
I have assembled a test bench for testing, in which the role of the fan will be played by an energy-saving bulb. After the first switch-on, the relay goes into pairing mode and starts to squeak - two short sounds and one long sound. More information - in the video version of the overview
To connect the remote control, press and hold any of its keys until the relay squeaks and the sound disappears. After that, the remote control is ready for operation.
For the lighting line, there is only 1 mode and one button, switch on and off, and for the fan line - three modes and 4 buttons - including shutdown. It should be noted that after switching on the fan line, the switching modes are not activated immediately, but after a few seconds.
The operation of the modes can be tracked by the brightness of the energy-saving light bulb. The first is the weakest, the third is the most powerful. It is activated by pressing the button of any of the modes, and there is a separate button to switch it off.
