Sony Xperia 1R will adopt 5K screen: here are some leaks about its detailed specs and release date

In 2019, Sony launched the world's first Snapdragon 855 4K OLED screen flagship Xperia 1, and now there are reports that Sony is developing a higher-specification 5K screen phone. According to Japanese media sumahoinfo, Sony Xperia 5K screen phone model J8220, temporarily named Xperia 1R, its design is roughly the same as the Xperia 1, which uses a 6.1-inch display.

According to the UA configuration file, Sony Xperia 1R has a resolution of 5040x2160, a screen aspect ratio of 21:9 (Xperia 1 screen size of 6.5in, resolution of 3840x1644), and pixel density of 899PPI, surpassing HTC Vive Pro VR ('s latter pixel density of 615PPI).

In addition, sumahoinfo noted that Sony also has Xperia phone models such as J8010, J8210 and J8270, which may be versions for different markets.

It is not yet clear when the Xperia 1R will be released, and given that Sony will launch at least two flagship products a year, the Xperia flagship is likely to be unveiled at the IFA show in the second half of the year.
