Taiwan Power Phantom P70 RGB memory review: DIY's new friend of Light and Shadow

Appearance  

Taiwan Power Phantom P70 RGB memory packaging is relatively simple, the lower left corner marked with product information and support RGB logo, and the top is a perspective design, you can see the appearance of the memory inside.

The heat dissipation module of the memory bar uses black color matching, with a lot of copper stripes on it, forming the shape of a cube, which has a good sense of design.

At the top is a light strip with ten custom LED lights built in, and on the far right is Tepco's own LOGO.

There are also some stripes on the upper part of the side heat dissipation module, which are due to the hollowed-out design, thus exposing the internal RGB lights, making the lighting more efficient. Taiwan Power's LOGO is also printed on the upper right side.

Taiwan Power Mirage P70 RGB memory adopts 8-layer PCB design, which effectively reduces the interference between chips. Its frequency starts at 2400MHz and can reach 3000MHz when XMP is turned on.

Performance testing  

In this test, CPU uses our old face Intel i7afue 8700K, while the motherboard uses the latest Z390 chipset microstar MPG Z390 GAMING PRO, while in terms of hard disk we choose the very cost-effective Shadowchi Iron Armor General 240Rose M.2, in terms of power supply and display, we use products from Hangjia, which are Hangjia WD600K gold power supply and Hangjia X3271CK e-sports curved surface display. We will compare the test results when Taiwan Power Phantom P70 RGB has the default frequency 2400MHz and automatically overclocks to 3000MHz when XMP is turned on. It is relatively simple to turn on XMP overclocking. You only need to enter BIOS, to find the memory and adjust the corresponding option to XMP mode.

The first is the change of memory information under CPU-Z. As you can see, the memory frequency has been overclocked from 2400MHz to 3000MHz, and the timing has changed from CL17-17-17-39 to CL16-18-18-38. XMP automatic overclocking is still very convenient, the ideal performance configuration can be obtained after simple setting, which is very simple and practical. Next, let's take a look at the specific test results.


Summary.The default frequency of Taiwan Power Phantom P70 memory is 2400MHz. After turning on XMP, it has been raised to 3000MHz. From the test results, the improvement is very good. In AIDA64's memory tests, there was an improvement of about 25 per cent, compared with nearly 10 per cent in real-world applications.

The overall design of the memory is very good. After polishing through multiple processes, the side of the memory appears mottled under the reflection of light. The upper lamp belt cooperates with the side hollowed-out design, and the more flowing light makes the memory bar look good. Although this is Taiwan Power's first RGB memory, it is made in good faith and looks very good.

And its performance is also very good, after turning on XMP, it can reach the memory frequency of 3000MHz, which is a good improvement for computer performance. If it is to 3000MHz and a good RGB appearance as a selling point, positioning mid-range memory cost-effective choice, I believe that will be able to get a good market response.
