Mate 20 is a less powerful implementation of the Mate 20 Pro, a model that has more advanced features.
Huawei provides the Degree 20 of an almost front filling screen of 6.53 inches. At the Bottom is a small edge and at the top is a screen notch (notch) with the front camera. Furthermore, the entire front of the smartphone is out of the screen, making the appliance look futuristic.
The front filling screen also ensures that the Degree 20 is smaller than you would expect. The Oblong 18:9 screen is an LCD panel and has a full-HD resolution, which is sharp enough in this format. A higher QHD resolution would provide sharper image, but also have a negative impact on the speed and battery life of the phone.
The hardware of the Mate 20 corresponds in part to that of the more expensive Degree 20 Pro. Both devices have a fast Kirin 980 chip, 6GB of working memory and at least 128GB storage memory. The battery is 4000 mAh large and can be quickly loaded via the USB-C connection.
Unlike the Pro version, the regular Mate 20 does have a 3.5 mm headphone jack. This is because the Mate 20 Pro has a fingerprint scanner under the display, leaving no space for the audio port. The Degree 20 has been affected because this unit has the scanner on the back, under the three cameras.
More and more smartphones with two, three or even four cameras appear on the back. The Huawei Mate 20 is one of them and has three cameras at the back, plus an LED flash. Huawei has designed the cameras in collaboration with Leica, a renowned photography brand. Older Huawei devices, including the P20 Pro and Mate 10, also have Leica cameras.
The Triple Camera module to the Degree 20 works in the same way as on the P20 Pro. You can have five hybrid zooms, where Huawei promises that the photo quality will not deteriorate. In The dark, the cameras shoot together images with less noise and more detail. Popular features like a bokeh effect are also present and Huawei also uses artificial intelligence (AI) to automatically improve your images.
At its release in the fall of 2018, the Mate 20 turned on Android 9.0 (Pie). Huawei puts here its EMUI-peel over it, which otherwise makes the software the standard Android version. EMUI looks more colorful, contains more settings and features and features additional Huawei apps. The Chinese Manufacturer's update policy is now better than a few years ago. The Mate 20, for example, gets a security update every month, so promises Huawei.
The Mate 20 is a simplified version of Huawei's impressive flagship, but therefore no less worthwhile. The device has excellent performance, a good screen and Prima's camera. Especially impressive is the battery life: it is unrivalled (especially for this price) and one of the reasons to consider this smartphone. That Some extras, such as with 40 Watts of charging and wireless charging are missing, we will gladly take for granted.
The Huawei Mate 20 is a high-Level device on many fronts, although the software remains a thorn in the eye. Although The Chinese manufacturer is neatly updated, EMUI fits too much and offers hardly any added value. If you Find that a dealbreaker, you might consider the OnePlus 6T or Samsung Galaxy S9. If EMUI Is not a problem for you, this Mate 20 is definitely a must.
