TicWatch S2 / E2 / C2 review: TicWatch S2 vs. E2 vs. C2

China Mobvoi's smartwatch, TicWatch S2 and TicWatch E2 are now available in Japan country. In January, TicWatch C2 also appeared, and all of the second-generation models of TicWatch were released in Japan form.

Price, TicWatch E2 is 18999 yen (tax included), S2 is 22199 yen (tax included). The pre-release C2 is 24999 yen (tax included).

Although the TicWatch S2 and E2 are slightly different in appearance, the basic specification is a common sibling model. It is not particularly mentioned in the second generation, but in the previous model S was considered to be Sports and E Express.

Both are smart watches that employ Google Wear OS, and the display is both a 1.39-inch AMOLED. The resolution is 400x400 dots. In the Product information page, SoC is only revealed as Snapdragon Wear, and RAM and storage are not published. However, the information at the presentation is similar to the C2 Snapdragon Wear 2100 with a capacity of 512MB of RAM and 4GB of storage.

Unlike the appearance of S2 and E2, S2 is a MIL-STD-810G-compliant toughness specification. In addition to impact performance, it also provides resistance to 95% moisture, dust and salt fog, operating from-20 °c to 55 °c. The waterproof performance of the S2, E2 and 5 atmospheres, but it is resistant to salt fog, it seems that S2 is better suited for use in the sea.By the way, the case is made of polycarbonate.

The TicWatch E2 has a slightly smarter look, but it's also a matter of taste.

Both belts are 22mm width and can be replaced with commercially available ones. However, it seems to be difficult to remove if it is not the one to use the slide spring bar like genuine.

TicWatch E2

If the screen is set to always display, it changes to monochrome display in a few seconds. In TicWatch Pro, which is the top-level model, there was almost no power consumption in the monochrome display liquid crystal by two-layer screen, the so-called ambient display just changing the display in TicWatch S2\/E2 (and C2). Because it is AMOLED, the black part does not consume power, but it uses power rather than showing nothing.

TicWatch E2 side

Another model, TicWatch C2 that is already on sale, is a notch more impressive than S2\/E2 in stainless steel casing. The display is a tiny 1.3 inch 360x360 dot AMOLED. The casing is stainless steel only on the front side.

TicWatch E2 back

The belt width is only 18mm in the rose gold of the photograph, and the other two colors are 20mm. Of course, it is also possible to exchange with the commercially available belt.

The button on the side is two, the upper side is the Power\/home button. The bottom side is a customization button that allows you to register application shortcuts. The back is the same atmosphere as S2\/E2, but the charging platform could not be shared.

TicWatch C2

Because it is a simple Wear OS with three models, there is not a special function. However, in addition to measuring various activities and tracking sleep, the S2\/E2 also supports swimming tracking. Only C2 is waterproof for IPX8, so swimming is not allowed.

Although it is not possible to detect the activity such as running, cycling, and swimming at present, it is likely to be able to use the function which automatically detects and starts the measurement at the start of the movement by a future update.

Note that the various measurement data is recorded in ticwatch original "tihealth". Along with this, the app that is displayed by swiping the left side of the home screen is also changed from the Google device standard to the Google health.

Of course, you can also change to Google Fit. Heart rate measurement can be done without any problem.

C2 is a little classy impression, especially rose gold is likely to be uncomfortable even if the woman used. For the S2\/E2, it is simple, good and bad, but the polycarbonate enclosure received a slightly cheap impression.

I have a battery that bothers me with a smart watch, and the impression that I used a little, three models and usually used for one and a half days. The daily charge will be indispensable. However, Wear OS terminal is an excellent one if you have a day and a half.

The price is relatively cheap, so I feel balanced overall, I think it is a safe choice as Wear OS smartwatch to buy for the first time.
