According to Reuters, this information was confirmed by TSMC on Thursday (21), under the allegation that Apple expects to invest US$ 25 billion in 5 nm technology.
Taking into consideration that TSMC has an exclusive contract in the supply of Apple's A series chips, used to equip some recent models of iPhones and iPads, available since the emergence of the architecture originally used in iPad Pro, it is likely that the 5 nm process will be applied to boost the performance and autonomy of the next models of Apple devices.
Still according to the information released, this strategy could mean a response from Apple to its main rival Samsung, which is showing a significant evolution in increasingly smaller and more efficient chip production processes.
